In a special podcast series for the summer,聽Film schools: what we learn when cinema goes to school,聽we鈥檝e been chewing over some of the movies鈥� most memorable depictions of teachers.

In this season鈥檚 final episode, out today, teacher Alan Gillespie talks about the classic 2003 comedy聽School of Rock, featuring an unforgettable performance from Jack Black as wannabe rock star and (very much unqualified) teacher Dewey Finn.

He dupes his way into a job at an expensive prep school where he is aghast at the priorities of his pupils鈥� families and teachers. Dewey starts out as a disgruntled clock-watcher but when he sees the untapped musical talent in his class, it lights a fire in him - and sets off a hilarious and ultimately inspiring chain of events.

The podcast series was inspired by a聽听飞丑别苍听Tes Scotland聽news editor Henry Hepburn asked followers for their favourite film featuring a teacher as a central character.
