This bundle contains a comprehensive set of powerpoints containing whole lessons for KS3 and GCSE maths topics. All the lessons are interactive and include activities for students to complete, whilst promoting cross-curricular links, self and peer assessment and collaborative learning. This is a set of excellent resources which cover geometry in KS3 maths/GCSE foundation. The 2-D shapes formulae sheet contains all of the area formulae for 2-D shapes as well as 3 diagrams illustrating the parts of a circle. The 2-D shapes revision sheet includes details of all the properties of 2-D shapes and contains a section on polygons. Also included in the resource is a revision aid on how to work out the circumference and area of a circle with worked examples and questions for students to attempt. There is also some worded questions on circumference and area which go beyond simply just asking them to calculate the area and circumference of a circle. Instead it gets them to draw on their literacy skills to decode the question and problem-solving abilities to attempt a style of question they may not have encountered before or be familiar with.

This bundle is extremely useful as a revision aid for students taking GCSE Foundation Maths exam and to help teachers deliver it. As well as being used to assist in revision in the build-up to the exam, it could also be used as a resource to regularly consult throughout the course. A set of 6 investigations (complete with teacher notes and worksheets) where students are set a challenging problem and work to find the solution. Each investigation should take up a whole lesson. The first investigation focuses mainly on probability and gets pupils to find the total possible number of half-time scores if given the full-time score, eventually finding a formula connecting the two. The second connects geometry and algebra, getting pupils to generate a formula which links the total possible number of triangles with a given perimeter. The third investigation gets pupils to discover the origins of square numbers whilst the fourth gets students to calculate the optimum rate (using compound interest) at which interest should be added to money in order to achieve maximum interest. The bundle concludes with a pair of investigations on triangular numbers, the first helping pupils to appreciate the properties of the sequence and the second which gets pupils to discover the derivation for the nth term of the triangular number sequence.
