Revision sheet with an overview of German verbs in three tenses

Two fairly prosaic texts about Free Time followed by comprehension questions.

Text, cobbled together from two authentic sources, about the consequences of environmental change for ski areas in Austria. Followed by reading comprehension questions and a discussion task.

A german text containing a number of pieces of advice for greater on-line safety. Puils have to read the German and match up the advice with the suggestions listed in English below the source text.

Phonics practice for learners of German. Open and play the Powerpoint. The first slide acts as a homepage for the remaining slides. Clicking on an image on the first slide will hyperlink to practice of a particular phoneme. Clicking on the Back symbol at the top right of each slide will return you to the first slide. The very last slide has a long number written as a word for pupils puzzle over.

An introduction to the present tense of wohnen.

A number of short texts based on an internet discussion about how best to celebrate a birthday. The texts are followed with comprehension questions, 'find the phrase' activities, manipulation activities, mini grammar points, and culminate in a writing activity.

A relatively simple dialogue about school subjects and teachers with questions in English. Written for beginners.

List of the months in German followed by images designed to provoke students into guessing the month from the weather / events they are looking at. Lots of possible correct answers = lots of guesses. If you've taught the weather you could invite students to justify their guesses.

This dialogue is an upgraded variation of something I originally wrote for Lernpunkt Deutsch. There is a dialogue featuring Superman at the doctor's, followed by True / False / Not in Text questions, a manipulation and extension activity, and a vocab deduction exercise.

This multiple-choice quiz contains 30 questions. However, each time you open it, it will randomly select 10 questions from the list of 30, and will shuffle the multiple-choice answers. It will almost never never be the same quiz twice. If you use it in a computer suite, each student in effect gets a different quiz. Will work on PC or IW. (PS Typos now fixed!)

This activity is derived from a Powerpoint on Asking The Way, originally uploaded by sammy_lou710 , but has been re-worked in terms of content and format. I designed it for my Year 8 class to work through independently in the computer suite, but it could be adapted easily to be presented on the IW.
