As a former inspector and long-standing critic of the Ofsted inspection regime, I welcome its “new focus†on “what matters most: the quality of teaching and learning, backed by excellent leadership and management, and good discipline and behaviour†(“Ofsted’s narrow focus fails to assuage criticsâ€, 6 May).
