In asserting that circle time is “a bit pointless†(“What did Sir Jim say at circle time?â€, January 29), Sir Jim seems to be comparing “a precious hour†spent on a well-conducted phonics session with a badly conducted circle time. No argument if that’s the implied comparison. But what if the comparison is between circle time well done and another hour spent on more phonics?
