Reflecting on the marking fiasco and the Government’s insistence on publishing dubious national figures, I don’t know which is more disturbing: the fact that standards of marking have deteriorated or Ken Boston’s claim that standards have been maintained. On close reflection, I’m much more disturbed by the latter. Just think about it.
