It is all about microhabitats and looks at the definition of a microhabitat, followed by a short look at three focus microhabitats. Perfect to cover the English and Science curriculum. This resource includes an assembly plan and 16 slide PowerPoint for Black History Month in October. It is suitable to use with KS2 or secondary aged children. The slideshow gives the opportunity to discuss why we might focus on black history for a month. It covers prehistory, ancient civilizations and 18th and 19th century Britain. There are 6 slides which outline key achievements of 6 different people of African or Caribbean descent, who have achieved great things in the past few centuries from Nelson Mandela to Mo Farah. (Please note no photos of the people are included owing to copyright restrictions). The plan gives details about how to use the slideshow. I like to lead assemblies that are interactive and relevant to the children’s lives, so the plan gives plenty of opportunities for children to discuss ideas, give feedback and reflect.

A collection of 3 practice SATs SPaG papers for year 2. All three activities are based on past SPaG papers. Each practice paper contains 18 questions focussing on a range of punctuation and grammar. This includes tenses, sentence types, commas, question marks, full stops, apostrophes, nouns, adjectives, verbs and adverbs. The questions are formatted in the same way as the SATs papers, so the children are asked to circle, tick, fill in the missing gap, match up words and write full sentences. This resource is a non-fiction comprehension booklet for year 2. It is all about habitats and covers what a habitat is, followed by a short look at deserts, oceans, cities, rainforests, woodlands and seashores. It is split into 3 differentiated levels. There is a different booklet for each level. Each booklet contains a title page with helpful words, followed by four pages of pictures with short written extracts to read and 2-3 questions per page. There are a range of ‘what,’ ‘how,’ ‘which’ and ‘why’ questions, some multiple choice tick questions and some that require more detailed answers. Answers are also included. This is a set of fun summer themed maths word problems for the summer term in year 2. There are 3 differentiated levels. Each level contains reasoning questions with answers covering all topics of the curriculum. There are 59 pages of questions in total. The higher level (called Super Super Challenge) contains questions based on the year 2 and year 3 curriculum. These Year 2 SATs style division revision questions are split into 3 differentiated levels. Each level contains 20 reasoning and 10 arithmetic problems with answers. The higher level (Super Super Challenge) contains questions covering the Year 2 and Year 3 curriculum and is in the style of a SATs paper. The intermediate level (Super Challenge) contains questions covering the Year 2 curriculum and is based on past SATs papers. 6th February 2018 marked 100 years since women over 30 were given the vote in Britain. This presentation was created to celebrate this historic anniversary but can be used at any time to teach children about the suffragettes and the Bill in Parliament that allowed women to vote. This resource is a 22 slide detailed, editable PowerPoint, perfect for teaching your children about this important topic. The slideshow covers women's rights prior to suffrage, the actions of the suffragettes, the arguments on either side, a detailed look at five particular suffragists, women during the war, the Act in Parliament, women in the 20th century and suffrage around the world.
