French Jeopardy Game: L'imparfait - French Imperfect Tense You're going to love this powerpoint IMPARFAIT jeopardy game with all the bells and whistles. It even has the JEOPARDY music, A DAILY DOUBLE and FINAL JEOPARDY. This is a version that I’ve worked out the kinks on for the last 15 years of playing it with my students. The answers don’t have to be given in the form of a question unless you want to play that way. My students absolutely love this game, and so do I. They get very excited about it and always look forward to JEOPARDY DAY. This game focuses on conjugating verbs in the imperfect tense. As the categories suggest, there are just as many easy verbs to conjugate as there are difficult ones. I have included detailed directions, rules and tips for game playing. This game would be wonderful after having spent time learning the imperfect tense. I've spent years working out the best way to play this game in a classroom setting, and it works so well that I went into a lot of detail in the instructions. The game includes 6 categories, a daily double, and a final jeopardy question. If you have any questions at all about the game, please do feel free to write to me: french@lovelearninglanguages.com LICENSING TERMS: This purchase includes a license for one teacher only for personal use in their classroom. French 20 questions games - Small group or whole class no prep activities

(1)
French 20 questions games - Small group or whole class no prep activities The game of 20 questions is a fun and effective way to practice forming French questions and in these 5 versions of the game, students will learn over 250 nouns that go beyond what they learn from a textbook chapter theme or every day classroom vocabulary. Included: 5 versions with vocabulary written in French and English 5 versions with vocabulary written in French only Have students work in small groups of 2-4 or project the version of the game that you want to use and do a whole class activity. Each version includes 52 words. Many of the words will be new to your students as this game is meant not only to practice forming questions, but also to build vocabulary. I like to allow my students to look at the game chart while they play until they’re somewhat familiar with the words. One student in the small group or class chooses a word on the chart. Other students ask up to 20 questions trying to guess the secret word. EST-CE QUE……. … tu es une personne? … tu es un animal? … tu es un minéral? … tu es un endroit? … tu es un aliment? … tu es une plante? … tu es un objet? The student who has chosen the secret word can answer using the following responses: OUI - NON - PARFOIS - RAREMENT - GÉNÉRALEMENT - PEUT-ÊTRE - CELA DÉPEND - PROBABLEMENT Alternative game play: To change up the game and to make it more challenging as well as practicing other skills, have the student who chooses the secret word describe it to others in the group. Instead of asking questions about the secret word, other students listen to the description and guess it.

Advanced French conversation questions - La technologie

❖ La Technologie- Technology - Discussion ciblée - French themed conversation questions ❖ Part of our series of “discussions ciblées”. List of 35 vocabulary words related to the water’s edge Includes 20 discussion questions. The questions are suitable for upper level and AP French or for high school French immersion. This resource is especially useful for your chapter on technology. The questions are thorough and thought provoking. I like to print the list of words on one side of a page and the questions on the other side so that students can easily refer to the new vocabulary during their conversations. If you make a two sided copy everything will fit on one page. Also included is a set of speaking cards for students to use prior to using the discussion cards so that they can become familiar with the theme and many new words. The cards just need to be printed and cut out so that your students can use them in pairs or small groups. Each card says, “Décris le mot suivant en français et ton partenaire le devinera.” The vocabulary word is written both in French and English since many of the words will be new. This exposure to the vocabulary will make the discussion that follows flow easier. Students will still have easy access to the list of words on the other side of the photocopied questions. Don’t want to print? That’s ok! A PDF with just one card per page is included for easy projecting or for tablets. ❖ La Technologie- Technology - Discussion ciblée - French themed conversation questions ❖

There are so many things a French teacher could do with these in class. It would be a fun cultural study to look up images of some of these menu items to show students what they look like and if they eat anything similar at their schools or homes.
