This free companion Power Point resource is designed to help learners explore the real-world application of the Safeguarding Vulnerable Groups Act (Core Area 5: Regulation and Legislation in the Pearson T Level Craft & Design specification). See the teacher guidance notes for details on how this resource fits into the wider teaching pack. I have included two (hopefully!) familiar examples, such as Harry Potter and TV talent shows, to support learner understanding and memory recall. These examples are supported by discussion prompts that link directly to 51ºÚÁÏ responsibilities in creative and cultural industries. Slides include adaptable prompts for reflection, group discussion, and written response, designed to support: Core Component understanding Critical thinking Employer Set Project-style analysis Extended response preparation These are followed by two real-world case studies of 51ºÚÁÏ failure in the creative industries. These can be used to encourage learners to think critically about compliance, accountability, exploitation and professional ethics. Some scenarios include sensitive topics (e.g. misconduct, abuse of power, or failure to protect vulnerable groups). Please review content in advance and adapt for the needs of your learners.

This free companion Power Point resource is a curated list of article links I found through my own learning and research, selected to support the delivery of Core 5.1.5, the Safeguarding Vulnerable Groups Act, in the Pearson T Level Craft & Design specification. Each article includes a short summary to help save teacher time and make it easier to judge relevance. If appropriate for your group, the content can be used for extension activities, learner-led research, or flipped learning. The articles explore real-world 51ºÚÁÏ failures and current industry practice, making them ideal for encouraging reflection, ethical discussion, and deeper exploration of legal responsibilities. Please note: some topics covered may be sensitive or upsetting (e.g. abuse, misconduct, 51ºÚÁÏ failures). Teachers are advised to review content in advance and adapt delivery based on the needs and maturity of their learners. This resource is ideal for discussion starters, independent reflection, or stretch-and-challenge tasks to extend learning beyond the core lesson.
