Key stage 3 ~ year 8 ~ complete lesson on Resistance. In this lesson pupils will state what is meant by resistance in circuits and describe the difference in resistance between conductors and insulators. They will then calculate resistance in ohms from current and potential difference.
Extension questions are included on the slides and there is a pick and mix of different tasks to select from for your students. Follows the Activate 2 KS3 course.
This lesson includes:
-Title slide with learning objectives
-A starter activity
-Group reading (literacy)
-Keywords (vocabulary: resistance, ohms and spark)
-Task boxes
-Calculating resistance
-Rearranging the equation
-Group exercise for mixed ability class
-Challenging group exercise for higher ability groups
-Answer slides included for self-assessment
