A CVC writing activity that children can complete as part of adult-led learning, a CP enhancement or an end of term assessment. Differentiated 3 ways to suit varying abilities within your class. At this point in the year it is hugely common to have some children writing initial sounds, some writing full CVC words and some using digraphs.

These form part of our carousel of morning jobs. Children write CVC words or words containing special friends independently. These follow the RWI progression and cover set 1 single sounds, set 1 digraphs and set 2 digraphs. There are 6 weeks worth, differentiated across 5 levels.

CP plan full of Christmas activities and consolidating last week’s learning! No formal lesson plans for maths, literacy or guided reading this week as we will be too busy completing end of term assessments and having some festive fun :)

A little checklist children use when writing to check they have included a capital letter, finger spaces, full stop and neat letter formation in their sentences.

Sheets for assessing children against the ELGs. We find this handy when sitting as a team and discussing the children’s abilities, looking through books and recent assessments. It then makes inputting data for LA very quick and simple.
