This is world map skill lesson. In the lesson students will be locating continents, oceans and some countries on a world map then creating their own map version. The purpose of the lesson is to improve students location awareness. This is a practical lesson, a good task for any time of the year but especially suitable for end of term run ins or those dreaded period 5s or for use as a cover lesson. There is a quiz at the end to wrap up the lesson as well. The lesson is suitable for all key stages.
Ten lessons on plate tectonics; processes, hazards and the management of these hazards. The bundle covers everything in this unit of study. This is a GCSE lesson on sea defences as a coastal management strategy. The lesson:
1. Covers the reasons sea defences are needed along the coast
2. Defines and differentiates between hard and soft engineering defences
3. Covers specifically how different sea defences protect the coastline
4. Assesses the advantages and disadvantages of the each of the different sea defences.
5. Includes the 4 main types of hard defence and the 4 main types of soft defences

This is a GSCE lesson on mega cities, primate cities and world cities. The lesson develops on the idea of urban hierarchy and introduce to students the idea of mega cities, primate cities and world cities. This is good foundation work for A level geography. Key facts about the lesson are:

A GCSE lesson on the growth of urbanisation worldwide. The lesson explores how and why urbanisation has increased in different parts of the world since 1980. Key facts about the lesson are:
1. The lesson meets the requirements of the new GCSE specifications. However, it can be adapted for a top set year 9 group and even an AS group.

3. The lesson starts by defining urbanisation and proceeds to analyse statistics about changing rates of urbanisation worldwide. This resource covers the the challenges for the planet section of unit 1 of the Edexcel Geography A course. Next summer is the last sitting of this exam. The resource is versatile; it can be used as a series of revision activities, a HW resource pack , intervention resources or as a series of recap and reinforcing content lessons.
