A short unit of work consisting of 11 Lessons, with a variety of activities. Lesson 1 - An introduction to travel writing/examination of why people go on holiday. Lesson 2 - Examine a summary of Disneyland Paris and students to write a summary of a holiday of their own. Lesson 3 - Creative writing about a trip to Hogwarts, advertising Hogwarts/Hogsmeade for Muggles. Lesson 4 - Create an advert for a trip to Universal studios. Lesson 5 - Critical review of Westeros, arguing against it as a place to visit Lesson 6 - Examination of marketing practices of Disney. Students have to write the script for an advert. Lesson 7 - Travel writing with a look at Tomb of the Kings in Paphos. Students finish by writing their own review of the archaeological site Lesson 8 - Lesson on pejoratives and writing a letter of complaint about a terrible holiday, including an example and variety of activities. Lesson 9 - Lesson on superlatives and creating a brochure about Lanzarote. Lesson 10 & 11 - Fun lessons getting students to market a holiday destination.
