Four individual Maya Empire Escape Room activities about the following areas of history or famous city-states: Maya Empire Overview Religion in the Maya Empire Advancements of the Maya Empire Chichen Itza Ideal for Year 5 or Year 6, the activities are perfect for group work, starting a new ancient history topic, team-building activities or for fun, engaging and interactive lessons. The activities can be used in English also as they incorporate some ELA skills, or in Social Studies. Each activity has been split into four different tasks; your students will need to complete each of the tasks to reveal a word. Together the four words make a phrase for them to escape the room. If they answer the questions correctly they will reveal their first word. In Task 2 students will use the same informational text to complete a crossword puzzle. Within the puzzle there are several hidden letters which will need to be unscrambled on the completion of the puzzle to reveal the second word. In Task 3 students will have to cut out 25 timeline task cards before putting them in order from the earliest date to the most recent. When they have finished their task they can glue them onto the answer key which will reveal their third word. In Task 4 students will have to find the missing words in a wordsearch puzzle before finding a hidden word from the letters that are left over in the puzzle. This hidden word is their fourth and final word. This remote learning bundle has two online activities that would span five lessons about the American baseball legend, Jackie Robinson. The resources are perfect for Distance Learning in Year 5 or Year 6 and are ideal for students learning about famous sport stars. When downloaded this resource includes printable versions of the activities and PDFs with links that allow you to copy the Google Forms and Google Slides documents and save them in your Google Drive. Firstly, there is a Reading Comprehension Activity with comprehension and grammar questions followed by an extension task. The resource is a Google Forms activity and is ideal for distance learning. Secondly, there is a Biography Writing Unit. The unit has been split into four separate lessons which will take students approximately 40-50 minutes each. The Google Slides activity is ideal for distance learning. The first lesson is interactive and involves students reading facts, and then sorting and ordering these facts into paragraphs. In the second lesson the children need to use these facts to type four paragraphs. Then, in the third lesson they need to choose the most important facts and include these in an introduction; after this they need to answer several questions before typing up their conclusion. In the final lesson your class will need to check their draft paragraphs before typing up their work on to the template provided. These activities are both online resources that use Google Forms and Google Slides, they are linked to your Google Drive. They can be completed by students online using tablets, phones or computers.
