The Perfect Tense in French - a step by step guide

(0)
This is a stand alone resource on the Perfect Tense in French which aims to help students understand how to form and use the tense through a logical, step by step approach. page 1 - common ER, RE, IR regular verbs and common irregular verbs in the infinitive and past participle form. page 2 - what does the Perfect Tense mean in English? Form the tense by doing a coordinates exercise. page 3 - use infinitives, past participles and the Present Tense of ‘avoir’ from memory. page 4 - form the negative of Perfect Tense verbs in French and learn which part of ‘avoir’ to use when subject pronouns are replaced by proper nouns. page 5 - revise common time expressions used with the Perfect Tense and do a reading exercise. page 6 - a display sheet which students can stick in their books to show them at a glance how to form the Perfect Tense in French. page 7 - put your knowledge to work and conjugate, gap fill and translate then mark your work from an answer sheet. There are also 5 pages of exercises based on Mrs. Vandertramp verbs and a 15 slide ppt. to help you explain how the Perfect Tense works. A game of French Busters and Battleships adds a little fun to practising the Perfect Tense. The worksheets have been meticulously designed and are at least as nicely presented as any resource you might buy from a respectable publisher. Please don't be put off by the preview image which doesn't do the presentation of this resource justice. It looks so much nicer when downloaded. Other resources I have made on this tense are set in the context of a holiday in Paris. The Perfect Tense of regular 'avoir' verbs in French (context: Module 2;Studio book 2) ppt. The Perfect Tense with 'être'. p. 34 - Studio book 2; Module 2; Paris, je t'adore! Written by the author of Heinemann's Mira express 1 and 2 Resources and Assessment Grammar Sheets.

Grammar (Part 5 - Infinitives, The Present Tense of ER Verbs, Connectives); Ma Région - AQA; Theme

To achieve high grades in the new GCSE exam, students will have to become more adept at using and manipulating grammar. This grammar resource aims to help students improve their knowledge and application of grammar within the context of describing their region. Part 5 introduces a range of infinitives and verbs which often precede them. In addition, practise the Present Tense of regular ER verbs, expressions of time and use connectives to increase the complexity of your sentences. There are exercises to stretch and challenge and many tasks are scaffolded for the less able. The font size is large so that 2 sheets can be copied to A4 to reduce printing costs. Most of the worksheets could easily be edited to match other GCSE topics. Written by the author of Heinemann’s Mira express 1 and 2 Resources and Assessment Grammar Sheets.
