A fully resourced lesson that covers the cause, effects and responses to a specific hurricane. Good to go and no additional resources required. Written for the AQA 9-1 GCSE Examination. Hurricane Haiyan makes a great up to date example. The Power-point has differentiated objectives linked to the new levels. The emphasis is on getting students to engage with the activities and demonstrate understanding. Resource sheets include differentiated activities and allow students to consolidate their learning. This can be completed as a single lesson with a straightforward case study template but with all the questions and resources there is plenty of material for 2 lessons and homework activities. The teacher copy of the example template can be used as a revision resource as it provides a concise summary of the content required. Updated February 2025 - the 2 video links including the 40 minute documentary are both working fine.
