A set of slides introducing the work of illustrator Ben Brown. The lesson can be used as a substantial starting point to encourage students to explore anatomy and skull drawings. Slides include a bell activity, starter, discussion points and main body of work. Work can then be developed over a series of weeks in an illustrative style.

GCSE Art & Design project overview for a project based around architecture. Using locks as the initial starting point, students move into architectural forms through the work of Ian Murphy and Daniela Gullotta. Later slides offer inspiration for independent development and creating work in different media.

Set of 4 worksheets which encourage students to research into the life stories of artists. In the style of illustrator Liz Clements, students are to produce a portrait of the artist, before adding tattoos in her style of symbols and meanings relating to the artists life and works. Presentation exploring the popular Asian shop house architecture of Singapore. Students are introduced to the style of architecture, consider why they are built in that way and what the various carvings may mean for the owner. Each student produces a sketched design of their own shop house using set criteria. They then simplify their design and produce their own lino cut print. Extension tasks allow students to explore graffiti in Hong Kong whilst adding backgrounds, or explore more collaborative pieces, as a class.

The project celebrates Frida and her iconic style, rather than her paintings, but does offer some narrative and video links to her personal story and background. A Powerpoint exploring the theme of jungle through typography and illustration. The slides begin with a step by step guide to creating a leafy letter using Photopea. Students then develop an illustrated book cover for the Jungle Book using Henri Rousseau’s paintings as inspiration. Originally used during online learning, there are differentiated tasks to consider resources found at home and online accessibilty.

GCSE Photography digital sketchbook - shared with students who create their own online sketchbook. Centered around the theme of WANDERLUST, tasks allow students to enjoy experimental photography using clever photography hacks. All shoots can be completed using a mobile phone and edits can be made using Photopea.com.

A set of tasks used during the original distance learning. The three tasks (and extensions) direct each student into research, pastiche and caricature of a given artist. Students were assigned a prominent artist from the past 150 years and tasked with responding to the tasks. Once complete, the work can be displayed in a timeline format or placed onto a website to aid with Art History understanding. Suitable for KS3 and KS2. List of artists used and tracking feedback sheet included, but can be modified.

A set of 3 worksheets suitable for Art & Design cover lessons. Students are asked to alter a famous painting in the style of grime artist Richie Velazquez. The worksheets use the paintings: Girl with a Pearl Earing Mona Lisa Frida Kahlo You can always replace the paintings on the sheet, or use student photographs instead!

A presentation demonstrating the grid technique for portraiture drawing. Students were asked to draw their teacher before completing their own self portrait. Images can be replaced and photographs of teachers / students easily added. Completed during online distance learning, students also enjoyed the challenge of drawing of drawing a friend that they missed and sending them their work!

A worksheet demonstrating how to achieve a pin hole light illustration in the style of photographer Daniele Buetti. Originally set as an online, distance learning task, it may easily be adapted into a one off cover lesson.

A presentation and tutorial to guide students through the work of Temi Coker, creating a mixed media digital poster as an end product. Students are to draw a portrait of an inspirational figure from back history before piecing together a poster design, in the style of Temi Coker. Basic Photoshop instruction provided with room for students to make their own copy of the presentation and add their development as they progress. Analysis prompts and written tasks are also provided throughout the presentation.

Brief scheme of work aimed at a Y12 induction to Graphic Design. The scheme of work begins with students studying Rauschenberg’s collage screenprints and interprets them into modern collage pieces. Eventually, students are lead to create a social media ident which introduces them to basic After Effects functions. The slides are lesson overviews, not tutorials for Photoshop and After Effects.

Word Document guiding students through their Written Study for A Level Art & Design. The document was originally used for the Edexcel spec but can be adapted to any exam board. The style of writing encourages students to write as a commentary, rather than a traditional essay. Can be delivered at the end or in sections through the Y13 course.
