Component 1 Section A GCSE Media Studies Approx. 3/4 lessons based this set product and the Representation of gender and ethnicity for Eduqas GCSE media studies. Including SAMS exam style questions and mark scheme and a comparison to an unseen modern film poster.

A two hour lesson which explores a range of representations theories: Stuart Hall, Van Zoonen, David Gauntlett and Gerbner. These are set theories for Eduqas A Level media and the lesson is based around the set product Tide, but is relevant to all study of media representations and could be adapted for teaching of any relevant media product.

Two lessons which look at approaching unseen analysis and guides students through the ‘media language’ question for Eduqas GCSE Media Component 1 Section A. The lessons are similar so could be used as a taught practice and then assessment. This exam question, which is similar to the SAMS question (so this mark scheme can be used), analyses the film posters for Corline and Corpse Bride, but any print based media product could be used.

A lesson which explores the concept of sound, sound terminology and the effect of, and importance of, sound in communicating meaning. A great introduction of teaching music videos (or any AV media where sound will be explored in depth!)

Approximately 5 lessons on how to compare two poems for AQA GCSE English Literature based on the Power and Conflict section of the poetry anthology. Included are top tips for approaching exam questions and lessons comparing select poems from the anthology. Poems: War Photographer, Remains, Charge of the Light Brigade, Exposure, Bayonet Charge, Ozymandias, The Prelude.
