EDUQAS 2027 Anthology - Disabled Single Poetry Analysis
I have started teaching the new 2027 EDUQAS Poetry Anthology and found there were hardly any resources to aid teaching the single analysis essay (15 marks).
This is a model response that is around a Grade 8/9 with a variety of quotes, close reference to the context, language analysis and thoughtful, detailed comments on Disabled by Wilfred Owen.

EDUQAS NEW 2027 Anthology - War Poetry Comparison PowerPoint
This ready-to-use PowerPoint is a full poetry comparison lesson for the Eduqas 2027 GCSE English Literature specification. Focusing on War Photographer and Disabled, it helps students write structured, high-level comparative essays on war poetry - ideal for Year 9 or early GCSE preparation for the new specification.
The lesson includes a scaffolded essay structure, guided analysis of context, structure, and language, and a model essay task with colour-coded highlighting. Activities support retrieval, annotations of the model essay and a sheet at the end to facilitate peer assessment. The model response is also included in the PowerPoint.
I created this because there are so few resources available for the new Eduqas anthology. This lesson can easily be adapted for other poems in the collection or for comparing unseen war poetry. Fully editable and classroom-tested, it’s designed to build comparison skills and analytical confidence.

EDUQAS 2027 New Anthology - Grade 8/9 Disabled & War Photographer Comparison Essay
I have started teaching the new 2027 EDUQAS Poetry Anthology and found there were hardly any resources to aid teaching the poetry comparison essay for the war poems.
This response is focused on Carol Ann Duffy’s ‘War Photographer’ and Wilfred Owen’s ‘Disabled.’ I have followed the same structure I teach my students, ensuring they lead every paragraph with their chosen poem (War Photographer) and weave in their comparisons throughout.
This is a model response that is around a Grade 8/9 with a variety of quotes, close reference to the context, language analysis and thoughtful, detailed comments.

AQA An Inspector Calls Grade 8/9 Model Essay - Eva Smith & Poverty
An AQA An Inspector Calls Grade 8/9 essay on Eva Smith and poverty. I made this to prepare current Y11s for the 2025 English Literature exam.
It could make for a good in-class model to show students how to structure their response, or it would work as a stretch/challenge for pupils to attempt.
This response is fairly generic, but it is tailored to be a suitable response to any one of the following questions:
Explore the relationship between poverty and Eva Smith in An Inspector Calls
Explore the theme of poverty in An Inspector Calls
Explore how far J.B Priestley uses Eva Smith to present poverty
Feel free to tweak, amend or edit this based on your teaching style and the needs of your pupils.

AQA English Language P1 Jamaica Inn Specimen - Narrative and Descriptive Model Responses
Included in this resource is a model response for both the descriptive task (a image of a train in stormy weather) and the narrative (write the opening of a story about a place severely affected by the weather) from the AQA English Language Paper 1 specimen based on Daphne Du Maurier’s Jamaica Inn.
Both models include an array of language choices, sophisticated vocabulary, figurative language, ISPACED to vary sentence starters, punctuation for effect and a clear structure in-line with the AQA mark scheme.
Feel free to use and edit based on your pupils and their needs.

EDUQAS A Christmas Carol Extract Essay Planning Sheet
This resource was made for my Y10 class after their first A Christmas Carol assessment, based on the ‘tight-fisted hand at the grindstone’ Eduqas extract question on Scrooge.
The worksheet outlines the essay and follows the Eduqas 1, 2, 3, DIVE model of responding to extract questions. There is a clear section for the extract where the students can select a few quotes and highlight what they mean/what they see, then there is a section for the wider novella and one for context.
My pupils found this really useful in reflecting on their assessment results and noting the gaps in their essays. It can be printed on either A4 or A3, if you feel your students need more space to write their quotations/explanations out. I did print these on A3 and found it gave the students more opportunity to explore their ideas and engage with the quotations and context more.
As always, this resource can be altered to suit your style and the needs of your pupils!

EDUQAS A Level English Language Creative/Critical - Analysing & Commenting on a Travel Guide
This resource is available as a bundle with four other non-fiction texts (blog, review, short story, news article) in-line with Eduqas A-Level English Language Component 3: Creative and Critical Language to aid students with their analysis of non-fiction texts and writing commentaries. However, they can be purchased individually and a select few could be used instead.
I put these resources together for my A-Level students who were struggling to apply their language analysis to their own creative writing and their commentaries. By stripping it back to basics and looking at the works of other writers, it enabled the class to pull out language and analyse how/why the choices were made and the intention of the writers given the PAFT.
As always, feel free to amend the resource.

AQA Model Narrative - The Beach
Based on an example AQA Language P1 Q5, this descriptive is about the beach, but it could be amended to cover some of the more specific past paper examples. This descriptive includes an array of language features, sophisticated vocabulary, punctuation for effect, ISPACED for varied sentences, etc.
Students found this resource useful and we annotated key features that they previously struggled with such as varying sentence starters, using show don’t tell and including a range of figurative language.
It could potentially be used for Eduqas/Edexcel as an example as the model an its features are still useful.

EDUQAS A-Level English Language Creative/Critical - Analysing & Commenting on Non-Fiction Texts
This resource is available as individuals, if you would rather pick and choose which texts to cover.
I have included five non-fiction texts (blog, review, short story, news article, travel guide) in-line with Eduqas A-Level English Language Component 3: Creative and Critical Language to aid students with their analysis of non-fiction texts and writing commentaries. There is an example of each, followed by questions to stimulate students’ thinking e.g. ‘What language features have they included?’ and ‘What is the PAFT of each text?’
I put these resources together for my A-Level students who were struggling to apply their language analysis to their own creative writing and their commentaries. By stripping it back to basics and looking at the works of other writers, it enabled the class to pull out language and analyse how/why the choices were made and the intention of the writers given the PAFT.
My class worked in paired groups and attempted each sheet as a carousel, which meant there was 1-2 lessons worth of work.

A bundle for the EDUQAS 2027 new anthology based on Carol Ann Duffy’s War Photographer and Wilfred Owen’s Disabled.

AQA Model Narrative - Discovering a Hidden Object
Based on an example AQA Language P1 Q5, this narrative is entitled ‘Write about discovering a hidden object’ and includes an array of language features, sophisticated vocabulary, punctuation for effect, ISPACED for varied sentences, etc. I can’t remember which past paper this came from or if it was an example narrative - either way, it makes for a great model!
Students found this resource useful, especially those that were wary about attempting a narrative.
It could potentially be used for Eduqas/Edexcel as an example narrative as the model itself is still useful.
