To engage a challenging class in English studies, I made use of the Troll Hunters series on Netflix and linked it to the skills and knowledge they required for their assessment tasks. The unit specifically focused on Genres and this series incorporates a number of genres and English language techniques (such as allegory, metaphor, foreshadowing, allusion etc) as well as great vocabulary.
