This is a set of three lesson plans and resources to teach children about the Jewish holiday of Passover. It is suitable for ages 7 - 11. There is also a 41 slide PowerPoint presentation to accompany the lessons which includes a topic introduction, the Passover story and details of how Jewish people celebrate Passover today. Lesson 1 teaches children about the story of Passover and includes a drama activity and a literacy task. Lesson 2 covers the theme of freedom in the Passover story and includes a drama activity and a poem writing task. Lesson 3 teaches children about Passover celebrations today and includes an art and a literacy activity. Each lesson starts with an introductory session and finishes with a plenary session. The plan includes three differentiated levels of objectives. These lessons could be taught at any time of the year. All necessary resources are included. No further preparation required.

This is a pack of four RE plans, perfect for using during the Christmas season. The lessons are aimed at KS2 and are all highly interactive, using a range of enjoyable activities to teach the Christmas story and its messages. The themes that are covered include trust, refugees, spreading the word of God and similarities and differences. This resource is a comprehension activity based on the year 6 reading comprehension SATs paper. The theme for the comprehension is the story of Jesus’ arrest before Good Friday, which I have rewritten to resemble the style of the reading paper. I have included 3 differentiated levels. The Higher Ability level (781 words) is similar to the SATs paper, whilst the Middle Ability (654 words) and Lower Ability (564 words) use slightly simplified wording in the reading and question booklet. Each level contains a 3 page reading booklet and an accompanying 4 page question booklet, which contains a range of questions based on past papers. There are also example answers. The preview pages show one page from the higher ability comprehension booklet and question booklet and one page from the higher ability black & white booklet. PDF file format. It is based on the KS1 SATs reading paper and includes 3 differentiated levels. There is a colour and black & white version of each booklet. There are a range of ‘what,’ ‘which,’ ‘where,’ ‘who,’ ‘when’ and ‘how’ questions, some multiple choice tick questions and some that require more detailed answers. The activity is also laid out in a similar way to the SATs booklets, with four pages of pictures and short written extracts to read and 3-5 questions per page. Answers are included. All of the booklets are in the zip file. I have also included versions of the comprehensions for Google Slides if you would like your class to complete them on a tablet or computer. This resource is a set of 3 art lessons based around the theme of harvest for Key Stage 1. Children create three pictures based on Van Gogh’s series of wheatfield paintings. The key skills that are taught include creating different tones and shades with paint, pastel and pencil and experimenting with shapes and patterns. The lesson plans are very detailed and include a list of any resources you will need to get out of the cupboard. There are also details of curriculum links and examples of work from my class. I have included the PowerPoints I used for the series of lessons, which contains information about the artist, examples of the artists’ work around which the lessons are based and information about how bread is made. Also included are templates for the children to use.
