1920S USA REVISION GUIDE AND ACTIVITY BOOK - KS4 GCSE & IGCSE CONTENT

(0)
A complete 40 page revision guide covering every inch of 1920s America. This guide is perfect for **streamling and consolidating **the content of the 1920s for any KS4 students studying History at GCSE or IGCSE level. Most of my students love History. Many of them, however, say they struggle to remember the vast amounts of content and nitty gritty details of every topic. Even more say they struggle to know how to revise when they’re on their own. This 40 page revision guide and activity booklet was designed last year with them in mind, as a way to streamline the content of their US depth study and provide them with stimulating and challenging review tasks throughout to make their revision active, rather than passive, and in doing so maximise understanding and recall! This booklet contains full summaries of the key causes, features, events and consequences of the economic boom on US society, and examines the political, economic and social facets of each of these. In particular, my students found the breakdowns of key concepts into mnemonics, flow charts, fact files and colourful mindmaps extremely helpful in chunking the course content into easily digestible pieces and linking different aspects together. Alongside these accessible and engaging explanations are numerous revision activites such as: challenge grids, knowledge organisers, diamond 9s, gap fills, scaffolded exam questions, model answers, colour codes, source analyses and many more. This booklet covers the 1920s and social change only. Part two, covering the bust of the 1930s and attempted recovery during Hoover, FDR and WWI will be available soon! A complete set of 5 model answers for the 2025 Paper 2 topic - KQ2 (The League of Nations) with fully formatted source paper and questions. This is Set 3 of the Paper 2 model answer series and focuses on the role of the USA in the League of Nation’s failure. This final set is best used with students to help them crystalise their understanding of the Paper 2 exam technique and provide clear examples of what an exceptional answer should look like if aiming for top marks! For this reason, this final set focuses on some of the most challenging questions that can be asked in the Paper 2 exam. See below for full breakdown. This lesson has been produced following the completion of the New 2024 onwards IGCSE specification training course delivered by Cambridge International Examinations (CIE). My last exam cohort of 91 students gained an average A grade overall at IGCSE, with 91% achieving an A*-A. Paper 2 was their strongest paper. How can I use this resource? This resource can be used as a preparation lesson in advance of a mock for the mock exam itself & for peer or self assessment I’ve found using model answers such as these invaluable when walking students through exam technique during revision sessions, and helping to translate the demands of the mark scheme into something tangible and understandable. Students commented on how useful it has been to have a benchmark to measure their own answers against, while doing independent revision and practising past paper questions at home. Specific content: Q1. Study sources A and B. How far do these two sources agree? Explain your answer using details of the sources. [7] Q2. Study Source C. Why was this cartoon published in December 1919? Explain your answer using details of the source and your knowledge. [8] Q3. Study Sources D and E. How far does Source D make Source E surprising? Explain your answer using details of the sources and your knowledge. [8] Q4. Study Sources F and G. How far do these two cartoons agree? Explain your answer using details of the sources and your knowledge. [8] Q5. Study all the sources. How far do these sources provide convincing evidence that the League failed because the USA was not a member? Use the sources to explain your answer. [9] Associated resources This resource is best used in conjunction with the 2025 IGCSE History Paper 2 Exam Technique Masterclass which and offers step by step guidance on structure, content and how to hit the highest mark on every question type!
