The 65 questions are divided equally between the content of Chapters 1, 2, 3, 4 and 6. Chapter 5 is naturally omitted as this content will be used for Paper 2 this year, and as such students will not be tested on this during Paper 1. This is my second set of model answers and accompanying exam paper for the 2025 CIE IGCSE exam on **KQ2 (The League of Nations) ** This resource includes: A fully formatted source paper, 5 model answers for the questions on the paper (listed below) and ABONUS EXTRA MODEL ANSWER. Whereas my other exam paper and set of models focused on the League’s effectiveness as a peace keeping body throughout the 1920s and 30s (found here), this resource focuses on 'How successful was the League of Nations in the 1920s?’ This lesson has been produced following the completion of the New 2024 onwards IGCSE specification training course delivered by Cambridge International Examinations (CIE). My last exam cohort of 91 students gained an average A grade overall at IGCSE, with 91% achieving an A*-A. Paper 2 was their strongest paper. How can I use this resource? This resource can be used as a preparation lesson in advance of a mock exam or even for the mock exam itself since the exam paper is formatted to replicate the real IGCSE exam. This resource has been produced following the completion of the New Paper 4 IGCSE training course delivered by Cambridge International Examinations for the 2024 onwards specification (CIE), as well as pupil feedback from the first cohort. Most of my students love History. Many of them, however, say they struggle to remember the vast amounts of content and nitty gritty details of every topic. Even more say they struggle to know how to revise when they’re on their own. This 50 page revision guide and activity booklet was designed last year with them in mind, as a way to streamline the content of the US depth study and provide them with stimulating and challenging review tasks throughout to make their revision active, rather than passive, and in doing so maximise their understanding as well as their recall abilities! This booklet provides a complete review of 1920s USA content for the CIE IGCSE Depth Study (Paper 4). It contains full summaries of the key causes, features, events and consequences of the economic boom on US society, and examines the political, economic and social facets of each of these. In particular, my students found the breakdowns of key concepts into mnemonics, flow charts, fact files and colourful mindmaps extremely helpful in chunking the course content into easily digestible pieces and linking different aspects together. This resource is designed to give students a crash course in the importance of dissecting sources carefully, rather than taking them at face value. Using one of the more complex League of Nations sources (which many students every year misinterpret), this lesson demonstrates to students how the overlooking or omission of the more subtle details of the source can COMPLETELY change the meaning and that consequently, with the clearest structure, the most sophisticated and ambitious features of written communication and the accurate analysis of numerous sub messages, their mark risks being capped at 50% if the main message is overlooked. I have also used it as cautionary tale to reinforce the danger of underestimating the challenge in a ‘what is the main message?’ question but ultimately the principles learned in this lesson apply to every source on every paper. In short, the highest marks are reserved for the most observant students, who include nuance in the exam answers and most importantly, that only with the most careful and comprehensive studying of the source can you hope to accurately piece together the main message and arrive at the most accurate conclusion. This resource comprises an 100 question knowledge test based on the Germany Depth Study content of topic 8A ***‘Was the Weimar Republic Doomed from the Start?’?***. This resource can be used as a preparation lesson in advance of a mock exam or even for the mock exam itself since the exam paper is formatted to replicate the real IGCSE exam. The model answers can be used for students to peer or self assess in order to speed up the marking process or as exemplars to be given alongside teacher feedback to cross compare with their own to better identify areas of strength and weakness in their own answers.
