A series of lessons (1-2) on solving equations involving Algebraic Fractions. The main task is differentiated 3 ways however there are many further opportunities to problem solve, reasoning tasks and also proof tasks. The has been used with KS4 and proved to be engaging and challenging in the run up to the exam. The lesson has been tailored to satisfy the needs of the new curriculum with a variation of tasks. All tasks have worked solutions.

A series of lessons on Multiplying and Dividing fractions with a end of topic task at the end recapping all 4 operations. Perfect for KS2 - KS4 dependent on the ability of the pupils and ensures that the key skills are embedded aswell as problem solving and reasoning tasks. This will prepare the pupils for the new content and different style of questions that are coming up in the new GCSE 9-1. Used with year 7 - 11 in the last few weeks and pupils engaged and stretched

2 sets of starters, which will last a minimum of 12 lessons which are worth 28 marks in total. They focus on key skills in the new 9-1 Foundation GCSE to ensure that pupils can improve their raw score. The same questions are repeated for 6 lessons with the aim that at the end of the 6 lessons that they will be able to achieve the 14 marks.

A set of 6 lesson starters targeting key areas of weakness for high ability year 11. Used on numerous occasions and proved to be a success. At the end of 2 weeks the aim is that all pupils will be able to complete all 6 within the allocated time for your starter when initially only being able to complete 1 or 2.

A series of lessons (2-3) on factorising into a single bracket aswell as an introduction into algebraic fractions and algebraic proof. This lesson gives pupils enough opportunity to master the fluency, however gives them the chance to use an apply these numbers in varying contexts All tasks include reasoning, problem solving aswell as mastering the fluency of the topic. All tasks include full solutions and worked examples so that pupils can self and peer mark. All tasks are fully differentiated to either 2/3/4 levels.

Spelling Tests of Mathematical Words. These are perfect in order to box off literacy within mathematics and can be extended even further if you as pupils to give definitions. There are 20 weeks worth of spelling tests, all differentiated for pupils are different levels of ability. Been using these for over a year with year 7 - 10 who love a weekly spelling test and learning new word!

A series of lessons (2-4) on finding the volume and the surface area of cones, spheres and pyramids. The lesson allows pupils to practice the skills as well as developing their skills to work with compound solids. It then stretches the more able pupils to work with algebra. All tasks are differentiated either 3 or 4 levels. All tasks have solutions so pupils can self mark with some of the solutions handwritten so pupils can see a full worked solutions. This has been used with classes of varying ability and all have been able to access the lesson up to their desired ability. There are problem solving tasks, reasoning tasks ect to suit the new 9-1 curriculum. This has been taught to top set year 7 and set 3 year 10 who were fully engaged and liked the challenge of working with new formulae.

A Thought and Crosses on Substitution. It works on the basics and links it to shape and formulae problems suitable for the new curriculum. All solutions are included to ensure that it is easy to mark. Look in my shop for a full lesson on this topic

A series of lessons (2-3) on working with recurring decimals and fractions. The lesson allows the pupil to write recurring decimals in short hand to understand which numbers recur by the use of dot. It then progresses onto converting from decimal to fraction and also using division to go from fraction to decimal. There are also problem solving tasks linking to the 4 operations as well as indices. All tasks are differentiated to 3 levels. All tasks have solutions so pupils can self mark with some of the solutions handwritten so pupils can see a full worked solutions. This has been used with classes of varying ability and all have been able to access the lesson up to their desired ability.

A series of lessons 2-4 on using 1/2abSin(C) to find the area of a triangle. The lesson allows pupils to practice the skill and then extend learning to combine it with sine and cosine rule to find area of triangles. There area also algebraic problems, bound problems and area of polygons using trigonometry. All tasks are differentiated to 3 or 4 levels to allow the skill to be practiced and then to stretch and challenge the more able. All tasks have either worked solutions or typed solutions so that the pupils can self mark. This has been used with top set year 11, all pupils engaged and made good progress.

A series of lessons (1-2) finding the area of a segment. It recaps the basics of finding the area of a sector and then develops it to using 1/2absinC to find the area of a segment. It allows pupils to master the skill and then develops it to more challenging questions and combining it with sine and cosine rule. All tasks are differentiated to 2 or 3 levels to allow the skill to be practiced and then to stretch and challenge the more able. All tasks have either worked solutions or typed solutions so that the pupils can self mark. This has been used with top set year 11, all pupils engaged and made good progress.

A complete lesson on converting between mixed number and improper fractions. Full of problem solving and reasoning for new 9-1 Curriculum. Fully differentiated and gives the pupils opportunities to challenge themselves yet remain engaged at the same time. Full solutions to help with peer and self assessment.

RAG task on Venn Diagrams. This includes drawing, interpreting and calculating probabilities. All questions have worked solutions. Ideal for middle to high ability studying the new curriculum. Full lesson available in my shop.

A series of lessons on Venn Diagrams which involve drawing information from a Venn Diagram, drawing venn diagrams and calculating probabilities from Venn Diagrams. The aim is that each lesson they get better at each question so by lesson 6 can tackle all 5 questions within 15 mins. Can be used as a recap or a diagnostic exercise. Gives pupils he opportunity to work through different problems involving angles covering a wide range of angle topics. Pupils always engaged in this task and like to stretch and challenge themselves. Great for revision
