Includes some simple geography based activities (match the flag to the country/name the European country) and some vocab activities (translating key football vocab and categorising vocab). Also includes a diary entry question. A good ‘back to school’ activity for a strong 3rd year class, TYs or 5th years.

A full unit on the Black Lives Matter Movement. Includes specific and key vocab and expressions, a comprehenion with French questions and an opinion question. Excellent resource for preparing for opinion questions at Higher Level Leaving Cert.

A full lesson on the housing crisis - mentions Ireland in the piece, but can easily be adapted to suit your location. Has a list of key words/verbs/expressions that students must translate and classify (noun/verb/adjective etc…) and a gapfill exercise in response to an opinion-style question on the housing crisis. Once completed and corrected, this can serve as a sample answer for students.

I got my class working on this in pairs and set a timer for each activity.

A short and simple French ghost story with accompanying translation and ‘find the word’ activities. Useful for final class before Halloween break.

A ‘find someone who’ activity which can be used to get to know a new class or to facilitate active learning, group work, to get the students moving around the class. Great activity for getting students speaking en français.

A 9-slide PPT on the Six Nations with focus on Ireland and France. Includes an translation exercise based on rugby vocab as well as a small comprehension exercise using a short factfile on 4 players. Also includes an infographic from World Rugby to bring in some numeracy - this is accompanied by a ‘Do you understand’ slide in which the students are given some figures from the infographic and they must state to what each one refers.
