This could be used mainly with Y8 and Y9 students but can be adapted or stretch for new GCSE students if necessary. This resource contains: Starter based on previous vocabulary on family members, personality and key verbs. 3 stages reading comprehension that can be divided in: Scan read activity for students to annotate information about the text. Activity based on reading more deeply to find phrases and key vocabulary in the text. Parallel translation using 2 texts (French & English) with missing information that students will have to work out to have matching texts. Student-fronted task based on a writing task / writing assessment: this could could be more or less scaffolded. If needed, students can use the handouts with the three texts they have been working with to model their own text. Handouts and presentation included.

Complete lesson on the topic of school day. This lesson includes the whole presentation with all answers provided and audio files for the listening. I created this lesson to be online friendly so handout is not provided this time and you will have to make your own. Match up task with the key verbs to talk/write about routines. Objectives in TL for students to translate into English. Reading task (3 levels of reading):True / False + Put the routines in order following the text + Find the words of phrases in the text. Listening task (audio files and transcript included). Translation task (this could be tweaked and be used as a comprehension task, used online so students can drag the emojis or simply draw as they understand/process the texts.) I created this lesson to be online friendly so handout is not and task involved dragging answers through the slides rather than write but this only takes a minute to tweak and adapt. This resource is aimed to help AS/A Level students with their exams skills but it is also based on other exam skills such as: synonym search, reading gap fills, listening exercise based on true/false/not mentioned, etc. This resource includes: PPTX presentation to go along Handout Transcription for the listening exercise Handout with answers Possible essay questions based on the topic students have been working with. This lesson could be use in KS3 or KS4 with your students and it is really well differentiated all the way throught. This lesson is meant to be a revision lesson but activities can be adapted or tweaked. This is a sample of a retrieval starter that I have used to do some recap on the basic grammar points with an emphasis on vocabulary and synonyms. It includes some practice of comparatives and definite and indefinite articles and extension activites to work on translation and writing skills. If you would like the key answers for this, let me know and I will edit the file.

This is a sample that could be use as homework or as cover work. This one does not include audio file like other worksheets and it is very simple. Just include a few activities for students to learn vocabulary and then a reading comprehension and analysis exercise of a text where adjectives of personality are used.
