This unit contains a Powerpoint presentation with all the content of ‘‘Unit 10: Jóvenes de hoy, ciudadanos del mañana.’’ and many other files (homework, vocabulary sheet, etc.) Files included: Extra listening activity (comprehension questions + video.) Homework (vocabulary, reading and translations.) 2 videos that could be used for listening activities. Vocabulary sheet for students (+ answers.) Handout for students. P.S: I can’t share the listening files for some of the listening activities but the answers are still there (instead, I added two videos called ‘‘Los jóvenes en España.’’ and ‘‘Los jóvenes en América Latina.’’ Some of the homework activities ideas are taken and adapted from Miriam_84. Introduction to the topic of school and subjects. Starter with a sentence builder in which students have to match the images of the subjects with the Spanish terms. Spanish to English / English to Spanish / Spanish dictation task - link to the new GCSE Specification. Mosaic listening task (see instruction on notes). Lesson on the new GCSE Spanish specification. El Cine y la televisión. This resource included a full presentation with audios included and another separate presentation with all the answers. Recap starter based on movies, TV programmes and other useful phrases. Objectives in TL for students to translate into English. Sentence builder with opinions, movies genres and TV programmes and reasons (this could be recycled to do live translations, Spanish to English / English to Spanish translations or Dictation exercises.) Match up task to follow a listening task. Listening task (match the programmes with the description.) Transcription and focus on frequency adverbs. Slides 7 to 9. Focus on pretérito indefinido (simple past) with endings, explanation and guided practice. Reading task (Find who). Follow up reading task on the same texts about preference for cinema or watching movies at home. Independent Writing task with different bulletpoints to cover the topic of movies and TV programmes.

This is a lesson that could work well with students of Y9 or for new students of GCSE French, also could be used with some groups of Y8 if it is scaffolded properly. This resource included a 3 pages document with a text adapted from real news for students to practice their translation skills. Exercises included: 1 - Finding the Spanish equivalent of the words given (using the text). 2 - Translation into English based on the text previously used. 3 - Exercises to work on synonyms. 4 - Translation into Spanish with similar sentences based on the topic of Cyberspace with emphasis on cyberbullying.
