Students can develop, embed, reinforce and refresh their knowledge of Spanish numbers in a cooperative, communicative and interactive way, independently of the teacher. They are also ideal for developing Spanish language skills in general, providing students with opportunity to engage with reading, writing and spelling in Spanish.
The activity is versatile, and useful in a range of learning contexts - great for starters, finishers, refreshers, revision activities and sub / cover lessons. The questions are all in Spanish for maximum language engagement. They range in complexity and challenge, both in terms of number and language. The questions also give students the chance to work with Spanish mathematical language.
The set comprises the following non-editable files:
= 48 differentiated question cards, 8 per A4 (8.5 x 11) paper. Laminate them if possible, as they’re easier to manipulate, and remain in excellent condition for years. To save prep time, simply laminate and distribute the pages of question cards, rather than cutting out the individual cards.
= answer recording sheet - students generally use their class workbooks for working out and noting down their responses, though the sheets are definitely useful for more formal assessment purposes
= answer key - laminate these for classwork - one per each group is sufficient

This set features ten differentiated word searches, with each consecutive grid increasing in challenge. The searches offer a really useful learning opportunity, enabling students to engage with the target vocabulary, and also developing Spanish language skills in general. The activity is really versatile too, useful in a range of learning contexts such as starters, finishers, refreshers and sub / cover lessons.
Students are able to identify which direction words are located in within the grid by referring to the arrow key. As they move through the grids, their language skills are challenged in a range of ways - from straightforward vocabulary searching to scrambled letters and number sequence questions, featuring Spanish mathematical language.
There is a single word search per page, portrait format, with a corresponding answer grid, so that students can check their answers - or use for a little extra help if they need it. There is a number reference list too.
Grids 1 & 2 feature number words as prompts. Students look for them in the grid, and also write the corresponding number in digits for additional consolidation. Grids 3, 4 & 5 feature numbers in digits as prompts, and students look for the corresponding words in the grids. They also write the number out in full for additional consolidation. Grid 6 has Spanish numbers with missing letters. Students fill in the missing letters, write the number out in full, then look for it in the grid. Grid 7 has scrambled words as prompts, students work out what the numbers are and look for them in the grid, also writing the number in digits. Grids 8 & 9 have number calculations as prompts, with students working out the response before they can look for the correct number in the grid, and also writing the number in digits. Grid 10 has a range of questions and number sequences as prompts - again, students have to work out the correct response before they can look for the corresponding word in the grid.

Students can develop, embed, reinforce and refresh their German conjugation skills in a cooperative, communicative and interactive way, independently of the teacher. It’s useful to work with tense and more complex language as quickly as possible, as this gives students a more realistic experience of the language they are learning.
This set focuses on the conjugation of German verbs in the present tense, featuring a range of regular, irregular and mixed, reflexive, separable and modal verbs. The questions are aimed at advanced beginner German students, and are useful for students preparing for intermediate German class. The activity is ideal for independent study, learning alone, in pairs or in small groups. The questions range in complexity and challenge, and some call upon prior knowledge, and address a range of language that may be entirely new and unfamiliar to students. These questions give them the opportunity to learn and apply new language - this means that the activity is not solely about practising and consolidating learned language, but also actively engaging with, and learning new language. A range of grammatical concepts are addressed in the questions too, such as gender agreement, direct and indirect objects, personal pronouns and word order in German.
There are translation questions from both German into English and English into German. This introduces students to the concept of translation from a very early point in their German programme.

Students can develop their language skills, as well as their knowledge of both the Spanish-speaking and wider world, in a cooperative, communicative and interactive way, independently of the teacher. There are 21 countries where Spanish is an official language, as well as three countries where a significant number of the population speak Spanish as either their first or home language: Gibraltar, Andorra, USA.
There are 24 flag (picture) cards, and 24 corresponding country with continent and capital city cards (words), so 48 cards in total. There are also detachable country and capital city labels that students use to label the flags, which is a really popular and effective learning activity.
There may be a number of countries and capital cities that students do not know, or are not aware of, so the games help them fully develop their general awareness, knowledge and understanding of Los países hispanohablantes.
The cards are really versatile, and the pack includes descriptions of a range of games and activities that work well. There is a country, capital city and flag reference list of all continents, countries and capitals, which students find useful to read through before playing. It can also be used as a year-round reference resource, which students can file in their workbooks or learning folders. Ideal for cross-curricular learning: Spanish and geography, providing great learning opportunities for any appropriate age group, at any time of the school year. Students can develop their knowledge of the geography and scope of Los países hispanohablantes and the wider world, in a cooperative, communicative and interactive way, independently of the teacher. At the same time, students are developing their Spanish language skills: speaking, listening and reading in particular, as well as broadening their Spanish vocabulary.
The quizzes feature 21 countries where Spanish is an official language, as well as three countries where a significant number of the population speak Spanish as either their first or home language: Gibraltar, Andorra, USA. They well as a whole-group team quiz, and are also perfect as a pair or small-group activity.
Each question has 4 answers to choose from. The correct answer is given in capital letters. The quiz cards are numbered, but questions can be asked in random order too.
There are four quiz challenges:
= Challenge 1 gives the country as a prompt, with four possible capital cities to choose from (24 questions)
= Challenge 2 gives the capital city as a prompt, with four possible countries to choose from (24 questions)
= Challenge 3 (36 questions) asks the question ¿Verdadero o falso? … es la capital de…
= Challenge 4 (36 questions) asks the question ¿Verdadero o falso? … es la capital de…
Where the answer is falso, students should give the correct response.
Challenges 1 & 3 and Challenges 2 & 4 are in the same file to save prep time and expense. The verbs groups are:
= regular German verbs
= irregular & mixed German verbs
= high-frequency German verbs

There are 2 formats:
= Workbook Format: 10-page workbook, with cover page, verbs lists, six worksheets and Notes, Next Steps and New Verbs page, where students note any points they’d like to work more on, map their progress and list any new regular German verbs they learn, which helps them develop a really useful German verb bank.
= Worksheet Format: worksheets can be printed out individually, or as a pack without the cover page, verbs lists and progress template, useful for quick revision, refresher, starters / finishers, and also generally saves on prep costs
The answer keys are separate files in the individual zip files.
The worksheets also address a broad range of vocabulary and grammar points, such as direct / indirect object pronouns, negative sentences and various question formats. Some sentences include modal verbs and subordinating conjunctions, to ensure that students can practise locating the prefix, reflexive pronoun, verb or infinitive accurately. Students may not have engaged with all the language used at this stage, and this makes the activity equally about engaging with new language, as well as practicing and reinforcing the current language focus.
There are three differentiated conjugation challenges in each set:
= Conjugation Challenge 1: each verb conjugated in sentence format across a range of pronouns, with students writing the corresponding translation. Translating accurately is an important skill for language learners to engage with and master, and this kind of focused practice is really useful for them.
= Conjugation Challenge 2: straightforward conjugation drill: each question gives a German infinitive and a target pronoun. Students write the corresponding German verb conjugation.
= Conjugation Challenge 3: mirrors Challenge 1, with an increased challenge. Students write the German translation from an English sentence, to ensure that they are able to produce as well as recognise both the correct conjugation and an accurate translation.

Word searches are a simple and effective way of encouraging students to engage with the written word in French, refreshing and reinforcing language as they complete the grids. This set features ten differentiated word searches with accompanying answer keys. It is aimed at beginner French to advanced beginner French students of all ages, focusing on 25 fruits in French. The search grids include a range of masculine, feminine, singular, plural, definite and indefinite articles. This provides a really useful language learning opportunity, differentiating and increasing the challenge across the grids, and enabling students to engage with key grammatical concepts in French from the beginning of their learning programme. This makes the activity more comprehensive and meaningful in terms of progressing language learning than a straightforward fruits in French vocabulary exercise.
Grids 1-4 feature French prompts and French responses in the grid. Students also complete a list of corresponding translations in English for additional consolidation. Grid 5 features scrambled word questions, which students must unscramble before they know what to look for in the grid. They also complete a French vocabulary list for additional practice in spelling. Grids 6-8 features English prompts, with French responses in the grid, and a vocabulary list to complete. Grids 9 & 10 feature image prompts, with students searching for the corresponding word in French in the grid. They also complete a vocabulary list for additional consolidation.
Each grid and answer key is in landscape format, and the vocabulary list features all 25 fruits alphabetically French-English. Students use the arrow key to identify in which direction the words appear in the grid.

The searches offer a really useful learning opportunity, enabling students to engage with the target vocabulary, and also developing German language skills in general. Word searches are really versatile too, useful in a range of learning contexts such as starters, finishers, refreshers and sub / cover lessons. It’s useful to have folders with a selection of vocabulary / theme word searches ready to go at any time of the school year.
Students are able to identify which direction words are located in within the grid by referring to the arrow key. As they move through the grids, their language skills are challenged in a range of ways - from straightforward vocabulary searching to scrambled letters and number sequence questions, featuring German mathematical language.
There is a single word search per page, portrait format, with a corresponding answer grid, so that students can check their answers - or use for a little extra help if they need it. There is a German number reference list too.
Grids 1 & 2 feature number words as prompts. Students look for them in the grid, and also write the corresponding number in digits for additional consolidation. Grids 3 & 4 feature numbers in digits as prompts, and students look for the corresponding words in the grids. They also write the number out in German for additional consolidation. Grid 5 & 6 has scrambled words as prompts, students work out what the numbers are and look for them in the grid, also writing the number in letters and digits. Grids 7 - 9 have number calculations as prompts, with students working out the response before they can look for the correct number in the grid, and also writing the number in letters and digits. Grid 10 has a range of questions and number sequences as prompts - again, students have to work out the correct response before they can look for the corresponding word in the grid.
There are two formats to choose from - the search grids and answer keys as separate printables, and also a file with both grids and answer keys together, so that you can print each grid and key double-sided, according to which suits your classroom needs better.

This set is aimed at advanced beginner German and intermediate German students. It focuses not only on the core vocabulary of days, months and seasons, but also on key dates in the German calendar, including all national official holidays - Bundeseinheitliche Feiertage - and a range of other Feiertage and important dates, such as Faschingsdienstag and der Fall der Berliner Mauer. Many of these dates, both national and / or regional across German-speaking countries, are religious in origin, such as Karfreitag and Allerheiligen.

Challenge cards are an ideal learning activity for German class. Students can develop, embed, reinforce and refresh their German language skills in a cooperative, communicative and interactive way, independently of the teacher. This set focuses on German dates, days, months and seasons, which is usually described as beginner German vocabulary. The questions however are aimed at advanced beginner German into intermediate German students, as working with more complex language as quickly as possible helps progress students’ learning and gives them in a more realistic experience of the language they are learning. Some questions address important dates or figures in German history, such as Tag der Deutschen Einheit and Angela Merkel.
Questions and answers address a range of grammatical concepts, such as articles, cases, word order and adjectival endings. Students may not at this stage have formally engaged with all the language and grammar included in the set, and this makes the activity equally about practising and consolidating German language skills and actively learning new language and grammar. The questions are entirely in German, including translation questions from both German into English and English into German.

It’s useful to introduce how to tell the time quite quickly with beginner Italian students, as it lends itself really well to promoting speaking in the classroom, discussing daily routines for example.
There are two key questions:
Che ora è? (1 o’clock, 5 past one etc) / Che ore sono? with a particular clock face, and students write the response on their recording sheet or in their workbooks. The second question is Vero o falso? and students write either vero or falso - where the answer is falso, remind students to write the correct time for additional consolidation.
Each set comprises the following non-editable files:
= 60 question cards, 10 per A4 (8.5 x 11) paper
= answer key & recording sheet
Laminate the cards if you can - they’re far more learner-friendly, and remain in excellent condition for years. I print individual sets on different colour paper so that they can be identified and organised easily. To save prep time and expense, distribute single pages of question cards, rather than cut out individual cards.

Parole Intrecciate Word searches are a simple and effective way of encouraging students to engage with the written word in Italian, refreshing and reinforcing language as they complete the grids. These sets are aimed at beginner Italian students of all ages, focusing on I giorni della settimana and I mesi e le stagioni dell’anno. The target vocabulary also includes words such as oggi, domani, il mese prossimo, and la prossima stagione to enable students develop their Italian vocabulary and to engage with gender agreement. Additionally, ordinal numbers primo, ultimo, secondo and so on, provide a really useful language learning opportunity, and increase the challenge in a number of grids. Students have to apply their broader knowledge of Italian in order to know which word to search for in the grid, for example ***il secondo giorno della settimana?***. This makes the activity more comprehensive and engaging than a straightforward days, months and seasons of the year in Italian vocabulary exercise.
Each set features 10 differentiated word searches, with an increasing level of challenge.
