How to Use:
Print out as many copies of the A3 board as you need for your class. I laminated mine so that they can be reused. Each board is designed for 2-6 players. The students roll a dice and move their counter. In order to progress they need to answer a variety of GCSE Science questions (read by another player) including the tricky ‘Give Me Five’ questions.
The first player to reach the finish line wins!

This lesson guides students through the use of the chi-squared test to determine the significance of the difference between observed and expected results. It is fully-resourced with a detailed PowerPoint and accompanying student workbooklet that have been designed to cover this aspect of the A-level Biology specification.
The lesson includes a step-by-step guide that demonstrates how students should select an appropriate statistical test ( from Chi squared, Spearman’s rank, Student’s t-test and paired t-test). It also explain how the chi-squared (χ2) test can be used to determine the significance of the difference between observed and expected results with a worked example.

This is a whole lesson on Spearman’s rank Correlation Coefficient including a PowerPoint and accompanying worksheets and exam questions for students. The lesson looks at why it is used, how to calculate it and how to interpret the results to draw a conclusion. This lesson is ready to go, with little preparation required. It is intended that students will collect their own data using holly leaves as these are reasonably abundant – if these are not available the students could still complete it with exemplar data. This game is best played using the glossary at the back of the text book and is ideal for revision at the end of a course or topic.
When the students request a letter the teacher (or another student) randomly selects a word from the glossary which begins with that letter.
The teacher then reads out the glossary definition for that word and the students guess it. The team that wins the letter can then request the next letter and so on…
The PowerPoint has hexagons with ‘triggered animation’ - click on a hexagonal shape containing a letter once and it will change to white, click on it twice and it changes to blue.
The ‘score’ hexagons contain editable text boxes. When one team wins a round click on the ‘0’, delete it and type in ‘1’.
The PowerPoint is macro free and comes with a Word Document instructions sheet.
