These are gorgeous writing activities based on a Christmas theme. Ten things in an elf’s pocket focuses on things that can be found with senses. The eight things found in Santa’s sleigh can be just a list of common or unusual items. Examples are given and both activities include planning sheets and writing templates.

This is a lovely powerpoint which gives information about the KS1 SATs. Includes examples of SATs papers and clear explanations to make the meeting with parents that little bit easier.

To celebrate Roald Dahl day, we want to give something to teachers and educators, who are preparing activities to mark the great achievements from the story telling genius. We have designed 16 fantastic activities, based around familiar stories. Some activities are suitable for EYFS/SEN and KS1 children, others are suitable for children in KS2. There are a range of exciting science experiments for a selection of characters from familiar stories, there is a crossword, a wordsearch and some revolting rhyme ideas. We have even included matching cards which can be played where two of the same need to be matched for younger learners, but then we have designed a higher level matching cards game, which takes a little more thinking about, matching 2 objects that relate to particular stories written by Roald Dahl. A great set of handwriting sheets with encouraging quotes to support children in their development of handwriting. Suitable for all primary learners.

This is a lovely poster to support educational professionals and parents in building up strength in hand and arm muscles to allow children to write. There is much more to writing than just putting pen to paper in the early stages. This poster will give ideas of strategies which can be used to support development in writing in the Early Years, or when writing is difficult.

This is a great activity to do with learners on their return from the summer holidays, when starting in a new class. It is also a great speaking and listening activity. Print out on card or laminate them, cut them out and let the children ask away in their groups or pairs. All the questions are the types that children can relate to, allowing them to find out about each other.

These are lovely activities to reinforce the tricky concept of hard C and Soft C. This can be a very confusing skill to grasp for young learners. We have created a display poster to support and prompt learners and 2 activities which are cut and stick activities, one with pictures and one with words, for sorting them out, allowing children to really get a solid understanding of the sound the ‘c’ makes. These are great educational resources aimed at upper KS2 learners. Fake news is an area of literacy that is now becoming more and more an issue. Stories are being shared on social media and people are unsure of what is true and what is fake. Here you will find a poster giving strategies to help children to remember to think before trusting what they are reading. There is also a checklist which they can use to help them to decide if a story is from a trusted source. This is a great bundle of comprehension activities for children who are not able to write legibly, but are able to read. In order to assess reading and comprehension skills we need to check their understanding. These activities are brilliant for doing just that. The activities encourage children read the story / instructions and then find the sentences/pictures to stick in the correct places to show the answers. Other sheets encourage looking at pictures or reading information to find clues and children can make a mark on the answers they believe to be correct. A great activity for children with Special Educational Needs who find writing a struggle.
