We sell unique, child friendly teaching resources to give children back their love of learning. Education has become very test driven, with many resources in a 'test format' . This can become very uninspiring for learners and be a cause for lack of motivation and enthusiasm. At Applefortheteacher, we create teaching resources to give children the skills they need academically, socially and emotionally, whilst encouraging that important 'love of learning'. Inspiring learners to thrive!

Early comprehension Activities

This is a great bundle of comprehension activities for children who are not able to write legibly, but are able to read. In order to assess reading and comprehension skills we need to check their understanding. These activities are brilliant for doing just that. The activities encourage children read the story / instructions and then find the sentences/pictures to stick in the correct places to show the answers. Other sheets encourage looking at pictures or reading information to find clues and children can make a mark on the answers they believe to be correct. A great activity for children with Special Educational Needs who find writing a struggle.

Letter formation worksheets (not cursive) A-Z lower & uppercase EYFS SEN KS1 with memorable rhymes

These fantastic worksheets support children in forming letters in the standard uncursive form. Many children struggle with the cursive writing and go through school with writing which is unreadable. These are a great tool to support children in producing legible writing in an uncursive form, suitable for EYFS, KS1 and learners with SEN who struggle to remember how to form letters. Each letter of the alphabet contains a lower case and an upper case letter and also a sheet with both to put the letters together in a short phrase. A great resource to support letter formation.

Treasury of Wow Words Interactive Display

This is a fantastic interactive display which has been designed for use in Year 2 or Year 3, but it could be used in other groups where a range of vocabulary is not widely used in writing. The idea of this display activity is to be used on a board at child height, allowing them to select a word from the relevant treasure box during their writing, taking it to their desk to support spelling. This has been trialled in a Year 2 class and it worked brilliantly well. This download includes all the treasure boxes with word cards, the diamond images and all the display letters, all to be printed and laminated to get the greatest effect.

These are great educational resources aimed at upper KS2 learners. Fake news is an area of literacy that is now becoming more and more an issue. Stories are being shared on social media and people are unsure of what is true and what is fake. Here you will find a poster giving strategies to help children to remember to think before trusting what they are reading. There is also a checklist which they can use to help them to decide if a story is from a trusted source. Finally there is a really good game which children will really enjoy, reading headlines as they move along the game board deciding which are real and which are fake. A brilliant set of resources to build important skills in a fun way, whilst putting the love in learning…
