I'm a Key Stage 2 teacher, Leader and English lead with experience in all years in that phase. I have a good understanding of the SATs framework and have incorporated this into my resources and plans. In my shop you will find a range of resources suited mainly to Upper Key Stage 2, particularly Year 6 resources as high quality lessons and activities are hard to come by since the changes to the curriculum, as well as hand made KS2 Christmas/End of Year play scripts and Staff pantomime scripts.

Currently being used with my school’s scheme of ‘Value of the Month’, this lesson talks through ways of showing we are proud and supporting others. The first week in a two week unit focusing on the film “The Alchemist’s Letterâ€. Each lesson provides guided writing opportunities to describe a scene, explore character’s emotions and explain how the machine works using drama and images. This then leads on to a second week (coming soon) where children explore two of the character’s memories, add their own happy memory to the machine and then explore morals before editting and refining. Aimed at Year 5 but can easily be used with a Year 6 class also.

This was a really early resource I made before starting university when I was helping in a year 7 History class. Can be used as a quick starter activity to refresh children’s memories of previous lessons or used at the end of a lesson to summarise certain words and terms they have learnt that day.
