This is a 2 hours sequence about the scene in which the Pere Jean gives a sermon about charity and an angry parent leave. This is an important scene about how the indifference of many led to the consequence we know. This 2 hours lesson helps students develop their analytical skills using the PETAL ( point, evidence, technique, analysis and Link) system for better essays. It also includes quotes and a translation. There is a Youtube link to the scene.
I hope you find it useful!

A 20 minutes fun Quiz about 13 main quotes.
A great starter for an end of term to remind students of the main themes, vocabulary and 13 main quotes to use in essays.
My students really enjoyed it. You can make it harder by asking students to add chapters.
PPT to use in class and the list of quotes on a word document to use for homework and revision.
2 hours worth of reflection around the significance of the relationship between Salamano and his dog in L’Etranger by Albert Camus. Includes key words, a gapfill activity, a translation, discussions, drawings. It will help develop thought process around the major themes of the novel, using the interesting conflicting relationship of the neighbour and his poor dog. My students enjoyed it as it is a part of the book they could all relate to as they all felt entrigued.
15 structures to use to impress in writing and in oral work.
Worksheet with the structures and their meanings.
A PPT with three examples each + translations.
Give the sheet at the beginning of the term and get students to stick it safely in their book.
Very efficient to include as a 10 minutes starter at the beginning of each lesson to ensure students have enough structures to impress.
I usually introduce one structure at a time revising the previous two going through 9 slides at a time.
Happy teaching!
