In addition, the end of the presentation contains a link to even more resources you can use in the classroom. I have included picture and word flash cards and a 31 Teaching Activity Teacher Guide to help you get more out of each lesson. The guide provides easy to set up, well paced activities which both you and your students will enjoy. I would like to introduce a brand new concept in thinking. Thinking Scarves. For a long time I was a huge fan of thinking hats... until a teacher one day wrote to me and said she did not like Thinking Hats as the Black Hat was very negative and could help to reinforce negative stereotypes about the colour black. In contrast, "White" was seen as a straight down the line, honest hat. The facts, pure and simple, without and falsification or misinterpretation. I then thought I am a teacher. Why not simply reinvent the whole system - forget about hats - scarves are the answer. With scarves, you can share them between friends, creating a closer bond between the thinkers. Make a thinking system which works perfectly in a primary school environment. Green - What is positive - makes you feel good? Red - What is negative? What makes you feeling angry or upset? Purple - what are your general feelings towards a character? Like purple, feelings can be hard to define. Gold - Make 'n' Shake - Follow your dreams and all the streets will be paved in gold. Blue : Facts - Facts, like the sea and sky can appear endless. Guide: No scarves, just a handy bag to carry all the scarves in and organise them into some sort of order. I would love other people's opinions on this concept.

Teachers need some fun to. This is my adult colouring book for teachers. You could print it out for your class to quietly colour during tests (when they have completed them to calm and relax them), or during long staff meetings - nothing is more relaxing and constructive than a little light colouring. This is to encourage staff to have a little time every day to think and reflect and not work. This is my attempt at improving the good life balance of staff. All these images were in the public domain. In the majority of the cases however, it took both a long time to find, then even longer to use editing software to sharpen and improve the images. I would love to know what people think of them.

Here are 34 different pictures of fruit, which are perfect as a PowerPoint presentation, or to be used in a wall display. It comes complete with a 31 Teaching Activity Teacher Guide to help you get the most out of your teaching and this purchase. Each slide is shown twice. The first time, there is the name and the fruit to help students to learn the names of the different fruits. The second time, they play the presenation as a game. They choose a random number from a game menu and name the fruit. They then click on the picture to see the name of the fruit. There are endless ways of using this presentation. Make target setting an interactive, hands on activity! This ideas is based on a simple 3D square based pyramid net. There is space on each side for students to write down their monthly English, Maths and Social targets. There is also a space for their name and something they learnt in the previous month. I added the motivational quotes so students appreciate what they are learning towards. I added the positive behaviour system, where the students move around the track each time they achieve their pyramids targets! The harder they work, the faster they move around the track. Lots of fun for everyone! I have created this worksheet in black and white so teachers can either print them on white paper or onto different coloured papers, the idea being to change the colour of the pyramid every month, so everyone knows which pyramid they should now be following.

I have a dream. I want all pencils used in schools to contain tree or other plant seeds. I want children to use plantable pencils. I have developed my own very cheap, simple plantable pencils which could be made and used in the classroom. All you will require are: Some pasta with a hole in the middle, the width of a pencil School pencil Seeds A school book label which will be cut in half. From these simple resources, you will be able to make a plantable seed pencil. The children can then develop the idea. How can it be improved? How can it be decorated? What are the positives and benefits of such an idea. It is also a great tool for using in science when you wish to get childre to grow things in pots, as the pencil of course makes an instant label. Teachers and pupils who have already tried this have given me very positive feedback. The pencils I am using in the video are 100% recycled paper pencils - but any pencil will work perfectly well.
