Year 6 Spring Week 3 Block 2 Algebra White Rose Maths Lesson Power Points
Following the order of the New White Rose Small Steps (V3), I have created five Power point presentations for my class for this week. This is for week 3 of the Spring Term (the first week of Block 2 on Algebra). These are supported by the worksheets I have created which I am selling separately.
The presentations contain fluency, reasoning and problems solving and many examples of questions which can be asked along the way. They demonstrate appropriate models and images to support pupils in developing deeper understanding of the mathematical concepts.
Great for supporting and challenging your Year 6 pupils.

Finding equivalent fractions, decimals and percentages
Calculating percentage of an amount (2 lessons)
Solving percentage problems - missing numbers
Calculating percentage increases
Calculating percentage decreases
Ordering fractions, decimals and percentages
The worksheets contain fluency, reasoning and problem solving questions. They demonstrate appropriate models and images to support pupils in developing deeper understanding of the mathematical concepts.

This is a Power point and accompanying worksheets to deliver several activity sessions on designing a Sea Life Centre. It was initially created for for Year 2 but later adapted for Year 6 with some minor adaptions. Numbers and costs can be adapted to suit.
This is a complete lesson (powerpoint and tasks) which I created myself for a lesson observation in Year 6, based on rounding decimals, for which I received an outstanding grading. This resource has also been used successfully by teachers in Year 5 and 7. It is a lesson which really engages students and also works well as a collaborative activity.
The PowerPoint guides students through the concept and then sets the scene for the athletics competition challenges.
Pupils use the athletics score cards to round the athletes’ times and distances, before solving the problems.
There are 3 levels of challenge plus extra challenges aimed at pupils working at GD, but for a mastery lesson, you can pick from the different sheets and combine into one which progresses in difficulty.
A mastery challenge for Y6 related to adding and subtracting fractions.
Questions in colour groups according to difficulty level.
Pupils can select their own colour challenge. I used this enlarged on the working wall and students posted their answers in a box, but it can be used as part of a lesson, as homework, or revision.
