January reading comprehension mats for guided reading or fast finishers
Winter / New Year comprehension mats for use with guided reading (teacher led), whole class activity or individual work for greater depth pupils.
4 winter themed sheets for pupils to complete. Pupils should read each passage 2-3 times to build fluency and then answer the questions or follow the instructions. Pupils should be encouraged to highlight or underline key words as they go. You could do this as a whole class activity with the sheet displayed on the white board, or in small groups. Some pupils will be able to do this independently should you choose to use the sheets as a fast finisher activity for greater depth pupils, or as a reading extension.
You could also use the sheets as a grammar lesson, highlighting nouns, adjectives, verbs etc as you read the passage together.

French Colours I have Who Has game. French colours game Primary French
French colours I have, Who has? card game. A fun and engaging way to learn and revise French colours. No planning - print and go game. Great as a lesson starter, follow up activity, quick finisher group game, or small group work.
Print on card or laminate. Trim cards in half. Distribute to pupils. Start with the red crayon and when a pupil identifies their colour they stand up and say 'I have red, who has … ? . The game continues until you come back to red.
Cards are in French so pupils will say 'J’ai rouge, qui a vert?
10 colours, plus the rainbow card (arc-en-ciel).
