This lesson is designed as an introductory lesson. Ideal for the first lesson in September. It includes a German culture quiz and personal information vocabulary. To accompany the PowerPoint there are Loto cards and a worksheet. This resource is also available in French.

Why study French? This is a classroom display showing a link between careers and language learning. Great way to include Gatsby opportunities. It’s fully editable and if you print each slide on A4 it makes a display of approximately 1m x 2m (if you include French and English words) There are other similar versions of this display but this is specifically related to French and was inspired by my love of all things aviation related - see below for other aviation resources. German Photocard Display This is a display to help pupils with the photocard element of the current GCSE. It can be used with all year groups to help increase fluency. The language is fairly simple but can be edited if you wish to adapt or add any vocabulary. An introduction to future plans concerning education. This lesson links well with Studio 3 Module 3. Slide 2 can be printed and used as a worksheet. Mini whiteboards are useful with this resource. My resource Future Plans - Lifestyle’ is a great follow on to this lesson and is a very similar format.

I created these resources to try to engage a more challenging group who weren’t opting for French at GCSE. I used it as a follow to Module 4 in Studio 3 and as an End of year project. The class completed the tasks then worked in groups to create their own cabin crew style presentations / videos - they loved it and so did I :-)

These worksheets were created to compliment Expo 3 Module 4 On y va. There is a worksheet designed to help lower ability pupils create a simple fact file about Normandy and surrounding areas. The Bayeux Tapestry worksheets consist of a simple version of the story in French and English, a crossword using the key vocabulary from the story and a worksheet with pictures to help them create their own version. Once purchased, simply delete the word ‘preview’ from the documents.
