A simple checklist with some of the key tasks for a class teacher at the start of a new school year. I always found it helped to have a check list when setting up my classroom and preparing for the first few days and weeks of term. It is great to tick tasks off as they are done! And I found that it felt good to have it nicely presented - plus this worked better for me than a whole set of post it notes and random scribbles that sometimes made the task feel overwhelming. This checklist has some of the key jobs to do ready for day 1 - some things to do over the first few weeks and includes some self-care reminders too.

These posters are designed to give students a clear and visual reminder of strategies that will help them to be independent learners. They can be used in a variety of ways – but specifically there is a poster for: Everyday independence Maths Writing Social challenges The design choices have been made with accessibility in mind. They could be printed smaller for students to have as individual prompt cards as required.

This Word template can be used as a prompt and record for pupil progress meetings. There are sections for: contextual information current outcomes in reading, writing and maths consideration of outcomes for key inclusion groups a review of progress reflection on student wellbeing focused discussion about a previously identified target group Each section has 3 questions to guide discussion and a table to record key points. Each table has 3 sections: positively noteworthy discussion points action The focus is on meaningful analysis and discussion to inform planning rather than on presenting the numerical data. It includes wellbeing (e.g. attendance and behaviour) as well as attainment. Icons are included which can be linked to school data via hyperlinks to avoid time being wasted typing up or presenting data. This could be used at the start and end of the academic year – or more frequently if needed.

These printable cards can be laminated and used as an aide memoir for staff when supporting students in the playground or the classroom. Playground advice is focusing on good 51ºÚÁÏ practice. Classroom advice is focusing on implementing the EEF advice on strategies that effectively support learning. Great for staff new to the role – or to share at the start of the year as a reminder or as part of CPD.

New for Stress Awareness Month - April 2024. This visual and concise guide will provide a script to help scaffold positive ways to process anxiety for students. This might be used with support initially but hopefully will be something some students can progress to using independently over time. Can be printed and stuck in the front of a study diary or home school link book as may be useful for parents to use with students at home for consistency of approach.

This worksheet asks students to think of the impact different books or stories have had on them. They are asked to think of stories that have made them happy, sad, laugh and curious They could draw or write in response. It is designed to be a quicker activity for perhaps registration time on World Book Day - or for younger students. There is a more complex version with 9 responses in my shop if you are working with older students or want a longer task.

This worksheet asks students to think of the impact different books or stories have had on them. They are asked to think of stories that have made them smile, laugh, sad and learn amongst others. There are 9 responses to consider in total. They could draw or write in response. The final reflection question asks if there is one story or book that has been able to do all 9.

This is a simple PSHE/ RE activity that shares 4 of the qualities the dragon is said to embody in the Chinese Zodiac. It asks students to think how they might demonstrate these qualities and also to record a wish for the year.

A simple worksheet for students to think about friendship and love linked to Valentines Day. Gives them space to draw a friend and a person they love e.g family member. They are asked to write about their friend and select words beginning with the letters to create an acrostic style piece of writing about the person they drew in the heart shape.

A printable booklet to review pupil understanding of a range of words selected from key vocab lists for maths, science, history, geography, music, art, DT and computing. 24 words have been selected that drawn from a range of curriculum subjects. There is a Frayer model diagram for students to complete to explore the meaning of each word. Additionally, there is a challenge to think about how each word can be used in creative and narrative writing contexts with an example given for each to scaffold ideas. Student can do them over any time scale – but as a word of the week will be able to complete them all before the end of the school year if they start them in January 2024 in class or as a home learning activity.

A simple activity for students to record 3 aims they have for 2024. The prompt suggests they try and set aims in different areas of their lives and gives examples for learning, personal development and social aims.
