17 unique birthday cards perfect for student birthdays! The varied designs cater for all kinds of interests and preferences! Included are image files and a pdf of all 17 for easy printing. To save me having to remember, I print enough for my whole class at the start of the year and then on the child’s birthday we just all sign the back of one card - that way I don’t have to get anything ready beforehand. Usually I let the students pick 2 cards from the pack without looking, and then choose their preferred card of the 2.

Use this resource to practice composing and decomposing teen numbers. Intended to build understanding of 10s and 1s, this could also be used to practice irregular decomposition such as 15=9+6.

This resource is great for place value practice. Children write, colour, decompose, represent and count each number. Pages at the end include alternative starting points (eg ten frame filled instead of written number) and blank pages for children to choose their own number.

This is a social story I made for a student to help facilitate discussions about shouting out and positive alternatives. None of the pictures are my own and the resource can be removed if needed, hence it being a free, editable, template resource. The file contains a link to a Canva template for easy editing.

This 2 week mini-unit has been a hit every time I’ve taught it! This unit is aimed at Year 3 students, and can be adapted to suit the needs of your class. I have left everything fully editable as you need to adapt it to your own students but please share within the license boundaries of your purchase. The unit takes 10 days (2 weeks of English lessons of approximately 45-60 minutes). Week 1 covers ‘features of a narrative’, ‘comprehension’, ‘skill practice’ and ‘planning’. Week 2 is more open ended to allow you to follow the writing and editing expectations of your school. Week 1 could also be adapted for whole-class guided reading if appropriate. The unit covers: • Beginning, middle and end using the story mountain framework to extend this into introduction, build up, climax, resolution, conclusion • Using quotation marks/inverted commas for speech (this does not explicitly teach use of commas within quotation marks as I build this in later in the year, but you could easily add this in) • Character and setting recap • Brief exposure to ‘Rule of 3’ descriptions

Creating retrieval practice lesson starter slides is one of my least favorite things to do - yes it’s easy, but it’s so tedious! So I collected all my Fast 4 slides together in one easy place so I can adapt and reuse instead of starting from scratch every time. Simply copy and paste the slide and tweak as needed.
