A lesson based on the context of The Magician's Nephew- contains levels for ICT. Pupils have to research Sherlock Holmes. Can be adapted for any research task. Contains AFL assessment sheet for plenary. I get pupils to stick this on the front of their books.

This computer quest (or game) can be used before reading Holes to gain interest of pupils or afterwards as a treat. It would also work well as a stand alone library/ICT activity- teaching students to use links/read information, etc. I know the instructions appear complicated but once its done it's a fab resource!
