Centred on the Historical concept of significance, this lesson, along with sources and source grid highlights to students the impact the British Empire has had on our lives, even in today’s society. In this lesson, students will explore how things that are considered the ‘norm’, such as food, drinks, government, sport, etc, originated from British relations with the rest of world, via the British Empire. Exploring the Historical concept, Interpretation, this lesson focuses on the evidence from The English War, from both sides. From Oliver Cromwell and the Roundheads, to Charles the First and the Royalists, this lesson will allow students to understand why so many people have argued over who is to plan for the Civil War!
