Graphics exam questions for GGSE
This is a set of exam questions that form a A3 test paper or possibly an end of unit test for graphics , the test covers orthographic, isometric and exploded drawing. these are the main areas of graphics covered in GCSE Design and Technology Product Design and also GCSE Engineering . This resource includes a student friendly mark scheme and a dedicated Youtube clip that explains the mark scheme. There is also a front sheet to complete the package.

Learning Checks Questions for GCSE D&T
This is a pack of Learning check question sheets covering a range of Design Technology subjects. There are three or four GCSE style questions on a sheet and the sheets are arranged two to an A4 sheet making each learning check A5 size. There are 7 different sheets covering, manufactured boards, scales of production, lean manufacturing, wood and metal tools. Each of the learning checks has its own walkthrough on my YouTube channel "Mr Ridley’s Design and Technology. These can be used as a lesson starter or as a learning or progress check.

A complete resource for students to complete a home learning task to understand the process of converting iron ore into steel. With a limited time to cover all areas of the specification for GCSE Design and Technology, Product Design or Engineering, it is useful to set some of the required areas for home learning tasks. This resource contains an A3 working sheet and an additional A4 support sheet which highlights the 5 main stages of the production of steel from iron ore. The home learning task is also supported by a Youtube clip which I created to provide additional support for students. You get;

This resource is a longer response type of A level Product design question, This question relates to consumer safety features of the UK three pin electrical plug. When answering this type of question many students, despite producing paragraphs of text fail to gain the full mark available for the question. This consists of two A3 sheets one is a question sheet and the second contains full marking guidance from the examiner, for the exam. This then enables students to complete the question and then ideally peer mark the response. These sheets would be ideal for a stand alone a level question or as cover work.

This resource is a longer response type of A level Product Design question, This question is about looking at two contrasting products and comparing them in terms of materials and processes used for manufacture. This question also has links to the work of Philippe Starck and postmodern design.

This is two A level Product design questions, featuring questions around the subject of Bio-polymers, the topical subject has appeared more frequently recently. This consists of thee A3 sheets one is a question sheet with two longer format questions and the other two sheets contain full marking guidance and tips from the examiner. This then enables students to complete the questions and then ideally peer mark the response. These sheets would be ideal for a stand alone A level question or as revision work.

These are intended to be used to support practical disassembly of existing products. These might be used as part of a product design lesson or to direct students who are completing their NEA ``practical investigations’ ’ these sheets would enable such students to maximise the marks avalble in section A of the NEA coursework.

Simple to make Warhammer 40k Buildings
These are a set of sheets which give detailed instructions and coloured parts which allow students to manufacture a range of battle damaged Warhammer 40K buildings in a few simple stages. This resource comprises three A3 paper building templates and an A4 sheet of propaganda posters.
These sheets are supported buy a step by step guide to construction which is available to watch on my YouTube channel.
I created these to use with a KS3 Warhammer club but they could be used as a standalone D&T Graphics project perhaps for KS3, there are three building parts to make all of which can be combined to make a 40K cityscape. The three sheets start with a vey basic build progressing to sheet three which is more challenging.

GCSE Design & Technology NEA Support Booklet
This is a 12 page support booklet guides students through the first 6 sheets of the GCSE D&T NEA. Using this booklet enables students to prepare for each sheet of section AO1 of the Coursework folio. I find this is very useful to ensure that students are adequately pre-prepared before they access computers especially if computer access is limited. These booklets can be also used to support home learning and preparation for completing NEA sheets. There is also a checklist for sheets 1-6. I have also added an additional blank front sheet if you would like to add your own instructions.

Using the Laser Cutter KS3 D&T literacy
KS3 Design and Technology literacy focus - Using the Laser Cutter I have created this sheet to enable year 8 D&T classes to have a lesson focused on reading and technical writing. I comprises a few paragraphs of text describing how to cut a keyring design on the laser cutter. The description contains a range of technical and non technical words such as tessellation and etch. Students read through the text and then answer 5 comprehension question which relate to the description of the technical process.

this sheet was created to Introduce types of production for GCSE D&T. there is a YouTube clip " Methods of production" and also a walkthough clip for the A5 Learning check clip.

This comprises an A3 worksheet and an A5 Learning check sheet. this sheet was created as an introduction to metals for GCSE D&T and to complement my YouTube clip " Types of Metals" the seven minute clip contains all you need to complete the sheet. This could be set as home learning if a link to the clip could be provided for students.
