(6)
A fun competitive interactive whiteboard game in which two teams take it in turns to match pictures triangles to equations describing them. Requires students to be able to label sides and apply SOHCAHTOA. Suitable for GCSE and A-level. The game automatically scores and has a built in timer in the event of a draw. Students really enjoy the competitiveness, strongly recommended. This game won a Microsoft innovation award. A version containing an editor and picture pairs is now available to buy on TES resources. Engineering Moments of Inertia A level Physics interactive eBook independent study

The pdf file allows students to independently learn and practise the AQA A level Physics Engineering Moments of Inertia topic. Either in the classroom or at home this is a great lesson. Students use this pdf file on iPads/ tablets/ laptops. The emphasis is on student independence. There are several routes through the lesson - offering lots of differentiation. The file contains 89 hyperlinked slides with regular questions to test their understanding as they go along. Think of it as a very interactive textbook, or a bit like Ceefax or Teletext from the olden days. Performance will vary through different apps and platforms. The Adobe Acrobat Reader is optimal on “single page view”, Outlook and OneNote are inferior. Also available as interactive eBooks; GCSE Energy GCSE Radioactivity Young Modulus Moments of Inertia Flywheel Practical pV graphs for Engineering Engine Cycles and Calculations bennyjohn5@hotmail.com

An award winning IWB quiz game for two players/teams. The board is divided in half - both teams work simultaneously. The winning team is the first to answer seven questions in a row correctly. Very competitive and fun - my students favourite type of quiz. Requires a SMART or Promethean interactive whiteboard. A version containing an editor is now available to buy on TES. Click this link.

Four in a Row Interactive Quiz Game: Mental Maths GCSE FREE

Four in a Row is a game for your whiteboard. Nothing needs to be printed or prepared to play this game. The game-play is somewhere between noughts and crosses and blockbusters. Two teams alternate, competing to correctly answer questions on the grid. The board is interactive - clicking tiles changes the colours and also reveals answers. Four in a Row games on five maths topics are available individually from my shop or as a bundle at a reduced price. The level of challenge is aimed at the foundation level GCSE exam. The questions are adapted from AQA non-calculator exam papers. A pen and paper may help some students at times.

Exam questions and worked answers for A level Physics Engineering

I selected 18 questions from the past papers to use with my year 13 class. All the answers are carefully presented. The difficulty is graded for every question ★★★☆☆ The formatting enabled me to use the questions on our remote learning platform. I tried to choose questions with interesting examples. So not the salad spinner one. In the 2020 lockdown I developed four interactive ebooks to help teach and test material for the Engineering unit. These are strongly recommended. This presentation contains the integral proof for 22/7>π . A slightly obscure topic but I thought the presentation would be gladly received by someone somewhere.

Conway's Game of Life

Conway’s Game of Life is a cellular automaton, a zero player game in which the progress and future states are determined only by the start configuration. The presentation contains an animated description of the game’s rules, animated gifs and weblinks. The topic is beyond the school syllabus - perhaps to stretch students in Maths/ Sciences/ Programming/ Philosophy. I hope someone finds this handy - I couldn’t find an introductory presentation on this topic elsewhere. Thanks.
