KS3 Science, Earth: Climate and earth Resources
A set of resources mapping to the Earth spec codes from the new AQA KS3 Science specification. 3.7.3-3.7.4 Covering 7-8 lessons.
A sequence of lessons covering all areas of the specification. Lesson PowerPoint’s of theory and differentiated tasks following an all, most and some principle. Mark schemes included to aid pupil self assessment.
All theory presented for teacher to read through as you go. This leads to pupil tasks and resources that are differentiated and range in literacy and numeracy as well.
At the end is a multiple choice assessment which can then be peer marked with a review by the teacher.

AQA Combined Science All Specification Review: Higher Chemistry Paper 1
If you’ve ever wanted to be able to guarantee that your pupils are reviewing all areas of the course, then this resource should help. The “All Spec Review”
(I have a free resource for Foundation Biology Paper 1 that will enable you to see what this pack contains)
Before a full paper is completed by your pupils you will likely revise the different chapters within the assessment paper. But how do you check they understand or how do they?
This questions pack contains past exam questions that meet every specification point for the tier and paper being reviewed.
I have analysed every question from every past paper to collate which question meets which specification points. From this analyse I have put together a question pack that the pupil can work through that is guaranteed to cover every specification point at least once, if not a few times. Using AQA exam timings these booklets contain at least a couple of hours of work. Broken down with revision, or completed open book, this could be many hours of work in class or at home.
This resource contains a PowerPoint slide to put up that has the breakdown of question versus spec point. It then has a teacher version with questions, markscheme and examiner report and a pupil version with just questions. At the start of the pack there is a review table for the pupils to keep track of questions and specification points they are strong or weak in.
Hope this helps and builds to a full review of everything needing to be covered.

Biology Foundation Paper 2 Revision and Advance Information Exam Support
Now that the “Advance Information” has been released by AQA I have put together an AQA exam question revision and assessment pack following the “major focus” list. This is themed so that it can be uploaded, completed and reviewed independently by the pupils as the mark scheme and examiners report are included. Or it can broken down to be completed in class over a few lessons. The pack is approximately 2.5-3 hrs worth of questions using the AQA times.
The booklet starts with a review front sheet which lists all the specification points being reviewed. There is then a spec point break down and multiple questions per focus. Starting questions followed by a more challenging ones. It then ends with required practical themed questions.
Each question has a place to record scores and review through a WWW and EBI list. There is then space for self review/feedback.
Bundle

2022 Physics: Foundation Paper 1 Advance Information Lesson Bundle
Now that the “Advance Information” has been released by AQA I have put together a bundle of the individual lesson resources linked to the “Major Focus” points to help support revision lesson between now and the exam season.
This bundle will give you a saving of 25% on the individual purchases.

AQA Combined Science Trilogy Biology Paper 2 Revision and 2023 Exam Support
If you want some targeted revision structure and pupil resources, then this resource may help.
A set of exam question packs and past paper analysis to aid year 11 revision for foundation and higher. Each pack is roughly two hours of exam questions and includes all markschemes and examiner reports. (Two documents per tier. One just questions and the other questions, markscheme and examineers report.
How is it different from other resources?
They are themed around the specification points that HAVE NOT APPEARED in the last two years (or very infrequently). This works on the basis that spec codes roughly fall on a three-year cycle with AQA exams and therefore could likely appear in this year’s exam papers.
Therefore each question pack contains two full exam questions for each spec point not assessed in the last two years and one full exam question, in rank order, for those assessed infrequently.
It also includes the full analysis of spec points for both tiers over both years and filterable spec lists that could enable some structure to the lesson content covered as revision.
Hopefully this will lead to a more productive approach, in terms of revision topics and time management, for both pupils and teachers.
How does it work? (Finer detail)
It highlights spec codes that HAVE NOT appeared in the last two years of exams or have a low relative frequency, leading to a very high probability of most of them appearing in the summer exams.
This tool has analysed both papers for both years and completed a frequency count of each spec code. This summarises into a combined table to prepare for the summer exams.
It highlights spec codes that have not been assessed by showing as green. It colours through a spectrum of green to red, of other specs which have been assessed, but infrequently. It shows this by a simple frequency count and relative frequency. The relative analysis tool shows how common it has appeared relative to the number of spec points. A low frequency could still have a high relative frequency if there aren’t that many spec point in that section, showing a lower probability. There is also a combined summary for F and H papers if you teach mixed groups.
Each analysis is shown graphically leading to easy displays for pupils to review key areas and target their focus.
On the following tabs there is a full spec checklist filterable by their appearance in either F, H or both so pupils can view this information in a checklist explaining each spec point. This has then led to a checklist revision list for both F and H papers and a ranking order of likely topics to appear in the summer papers starting with units where a spec has not been assessed and then leading into those with low relative frequencies.

Cross Curricular Creative Project: Science, English and ICT
This is a set of lessons, resources, homework and schemes of work targeted at cross curricular links between Science, English and ICT for KS3 pupil. The theme is “Your Favourite Movie” and the pupils are to build a portfolio of graded activities to create their project.
It was designed to fit the timetable for my school where the year 7 and 8’s had a creative curriculum day once a week with three teachers assigned; one Science, English and ICT. The pupils would then take a lead on how they would manage their time over a term. They would select from a range of activities each week, themed to each subject, and would allocate themselves for the day. All these activities would then build up to their “Creative Diploma” for that term. It worked by building a project from their 6 best activities from a selection of 9. This obviously may not fit your timetable model but could easily be adapted to be run over a much longer period of time as cross curricular after school clubs of summer holiday projects etc.
Each activity is built up from many smaller tasks leading to a grade for that piece of work using level ladders. All tasks are written and presentable straight to the pupils with clear guidance, instructions, tasks, questions, homework and level ladders. The level ladders are based around now, next, further and advanced so not grade or level based but easily editable to fit your school model.
Activities range from building circuits, podcasts, web design, writing scripts, costume design, cameras and lenses, the behaviour of light and filters and theme songs. Each individual activity linked back to their “Favourite Movie” concept building a solid link between these three subjects.
A fun and practical way to cover a huge variety of subjects and topics from within these three specific curriculums.

1-9 Tracking Pupil Labels
A set of documents for either a 3 year or 2 year GCSE course.
This will generate large tracking labels that can be stuck to the front of a folder or book. All you have to do is paste in names, class, subject and target and the rest is done for you. This will work for 200+ pupils but can just be done for a single class. Each label is half an A4 so you get two to a sheet.
It will present as a table that shows termly expected data leading to the pupils target over the full course. This can then be filled in each term to record their actual working at grade. From this progress can be calculated each term.
This enables pupils to know where they should be and when they are slipping behind.
It all requires is some pasting, mail merge and then print.
Easy.
