2 week Performance Poetry planning perfect for year 3/4. Includes build up to understanding and performing poetry and then moving onto writing their own poem using a frame based on a popular poem style. My year group responded very well to this planning and thoroughly enjoyed producing their own poems and performing them to one another. They also loved playing critics and had fun evaluating their own performances as well as those of others. Planning is in the form of a flipchart and includes other necessary resources. Marking ladders for work to be completed are included as well as a modelled text which can be used to model to the children how their poems might sound.

Frames to support talk in EYFS. Can be placed in free flow areas to support the children to speak in full sentences and use appropriate vocabulary for any given situation. Talk frames for various types of talk eg. language of argument, language of comparison, language of description etc. Talk frames are designed using Tower Hamlets Progression in language statements but adapted slightly to be much more user friendly.

Unit of work on formal method for subtraction. Works alongside my planning for addition. Includes the flipchart planning and all the worksheets for a whole week’s worth of lessons. Saves lots of time and thinking too. Also includes a mini green bubble challenge which acts as a form of assessment at the end of the week’s teaching to assess what the children have learnt and retained.

Planning for a unit of work based on Addition with some subtraction. Works alongside the unit of work on Subtraction which is sold separately. Flipchart includes a week of work on addition and some subtraction. Begins with mental addition and subtraction with some use of Singapore Bar method and then moving into the formal method of addition for year 3/4. Includes worksheets and reasoning challenges adapted from the White Rose Scheme of work.

Short unit of work based on food chains with oracy links. Leads to an explanation text about food chains. Includes modelled text on the flipchart. Exploratory learning to being with leading to teacher taught session to consolidate learning.

2 weeks of guided reading teaching for LKS2 linked to understanding vocabulary. Includes vocab strategies and multiple meaning words. Activities are based on optional year 4 SATs style papers called Feet First. Screen grabs are on the flipchart but the file hasn’t been attached to avoid copyright issues. The tasks are all based on this document which can be downloaded quite easily online.
