This lesson includes a Ppt presentation with various optional discussion points and the Teaching Notes include a link to duplicate a quiz on Forms fro students to complete in advance or at the start. It allows for discussion of current issues around misogyny and where they may stem from, while giving opportunities to consider the differences faced by men and women going out in terms of their own safety. It looks at the debate around making misogyny a Hate Crime but also where feelings of misogyny stem from and what could make a difference.

This lesson looks both at the history and the future of smoking. It begins with an optional survey on Forms (link to duplicate is on the Teaching Notes) to get an idea of current feelings on smoking. It looks at how cigarette smoking spread and how it affects health. It also gives opportunities to discuss how legislation has changed the face of smoking and to discuss how this can be used to take further action. It looks at the 2024 discussions on a smoking ban and allows for students to discuss their thoughts. A worksheet helps to guide discussions. The lesson is wholly adaptable to your time allowance and needs. It is part of a series on Making safe and healthy choices, but can also be purchased along with our vaping lesson.
This lesson looks at the idea of ‘empowerment’ ,where it might be lacking and what protections are in place to aid empowerment. As well as thinking about the idea, it looks at the responsibility of employers and the individual to support ensuring that employees are empowered to reach their full potential. The lesson also looks at those who may find their power diminished and looks at protected characteristics and the Equality Act. It encourages students to consider their role in supporting others. The lesson suggests optional video content and gives opportunities for discussion, so is easily adaptable to your time allowance. The lesson ends with a plenary and links to further reading or viewing.
