This is an activity sheet that follows the Texts that Teach sequence for The Slime book, identifying imperative verbs that make a command, and then turning sentences into commands.
This is a complete lesson aimed at answering the question: What was Mayan culture like? It was taught to a year 7 SEN group and follows the KS 1/2 National Curriculum. There are 5 quick recap questions to start (with visual prompts to scaffold learning) and then the lesson is based around the BBC Teach videos and using a sheet with visuals and sentence stems to gather information about what a day in the life of a Maya person would be like. The day in the life sheet is attached and all videos are linked in the ppt.
This is a lesson based on Brene Brown’s Video about Emapthy (Kid friendly) version. It is aimed at SEN year 7 pupils, so would be suitable for SEN or KS 1/2. It defines empathy, identifies the 4 steps in empathy, and presents social scenarios where empathy would need to be used, and offers scaffolds to support responses.

This is a complete lesson covering rock hardness, permeability, and an acid test. This includes a 5 min speaking and listening activity asking pupils to describe some rocks, a ppt with a quick recap of past learning (alive vs not alive, grains vs crystals, etc), before guiding learning for the lesson. Adult instructions are included for the teacher and / or other class adults, including questions to ask to scaffold and assess learning. A recording sheet for pupils is included, and there is a stretch activity if needed as well.

This is a full lesson on road safety for ks3 pupils, or pupils with SEN who are learning the importance of road awareness and safety. This includes a starter speaking and listening activity with visuals to support, group discussions, activities, and a reflection to assess learning. This lesson focuses on drivers, passengers, and pedestrian responsibilities when using the road, the risks each might face, the impacts of choosing safe or risky choices, and how to prevent risky choices.
These are 3 A4 boards set up to be used as ALD’s, for pupils to communicate how they are feeling and identify a strategy to help them. I use them in my classroom with verbal pupils, which has had a really positive impact with independence, regulation, and communication. Great as a display, or a print out to use

Questions are related to germs and handwashing, brushing teeth and washing their face, washing hair, showering / changing clothes, and where to buy personal hygiene products. Question are adapted for varying levels (simplified questions and extension questions)
