Reading text talking about the use of mobile phones in France followed by a translation activity + comprehension questions. Can be used with high-achieving Y11s and KS5. I used it with my Ab Initio Y12 group but it was too much for them but with a more able group would probably be fine. Encourage students to identify question words and give full sentences in response.

A simple running dictation. Students work in pairs - 1 runner, 1 speaker. Slips of paper are printed and stuck around the room / corridor. Students practise all 4 skills while working together. They can translate the sentences, add to make them better or work on writing a longer essay when done
