I have converted the notes to PowerPoint slides so you can download them, adapt them if needed, use them in revision lessons or perhaps give your students a set to take home with them to help them prepare for exams. A presentation and worksheet to introduce the basics of ratio. Suitable for KS3 and lower KS4 students. Questions and examples are included for students to practice and discuss.

A worksheet requiring pupils to substitute a range of numbers into a range of expressions. Change the numbers and expressions to alter difficulty.

Algebra level 6 Powerpoint: An introduction to solving equations using the balance method

A nice Magic Squares activity to practice the concept of collecting like terms. This word document is suitable to be printed out and given to students. Students must rearrange the rows, columns and diagonals of the square so that they simplify to the same expression. Answers are provided.

A lesson involving a board game and some follow-up questions to test student's understanding of substitution.
