The lesson includes a match up exercise for the key events in the cattle industry over the period. This lesson is best taught as revision or after teaching the cattle industry in more detail. Students then identify what is needed in a narrative account question and are asked to assess an example answer. They are then given a narrative account question of their own to complete.

Crime and Punishment Revision Card Sort

(0)
This card sort is designed to give students an overview of the course. I have used this resource successfully with a range of ability groups. Lower Ability Card Sort uses different fonts to break down the crime, punishment, law enforcement method and context in each time period. Ideas: A Students to decide which time periods are which colour and to build a rough timeline. Within each time period, students should sort the cards into crimes, punishments and law enforcement methods. Students could pull out changes and continuities across the periods B Students to use it as a checklist. C Students to make links between different cards e.g. as a thinking quilt.
